NEET Exam Details

NEET 2024 will be conducting on May 5, 2024, in 155 test centres across the country. NEET 2024 exam paper consists of 180 multiple-choice questions. Out of 180 questions, 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry and 90 from Biology (Botany and Zoology) are asked. The details related to the NEET exam are given in the table below:

  • Mode of NEET Exam - Pen-paper based.

  • Duration of the Exam - 3 hours.

  • Total Number of Questions - 180 (Physics: 45, Chemistry: 45, and Biology: 90).

  • Total Marks - 720

NEET 2020 Merit List

NTA releases the NEET 2020 Merit List online for people. The merit list of successful and eligible applicants who would choose for 15% of the All India Quota seats will be based on marks acquired in the NEET (UG) 2020. Admission to MBBS/BDS programmes will be based on the All India Rank (AIR) as determined by the merit list.


The merit list is compiled in percentile order, with the highest grades at the top. There will also be tie-breaking rules for candidates who receive the same or similar scores. Preference will be given in the following order based on tie-breaking criteria:

  • Those who will achieve the best grades in Biology (Zoology or Botany),

  • If chemistry has the highest marks.

For the first time in NEET history, both rank 1 and rank 2 candidates received full marks. Soyeb Aftab of Odisha took first place, and Akansha Singh of Delhi took second place. Both of them scored a perfect score of 720 out of 720. Because of the tiebreaker policy of the National Testing Agency (NTA), Akanksha Singh was rated second in AIR.

1. What is the mode of NEET 2020 examination?

On 3 MAY, 2020, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET 2020 Admit Card, which was made available online. A candidate who does not bring his or her admit card to the examination hall will not be allowed to take the exam. Each candidate's admit card will be checked by an invigilator for identification.
