NEET Important Dates 2019 – Exam Dates, Last Date of Application

The exam date for NEET 2019 is on May 5th. Most students are intensively preparing for the esteemed exam. As the sole eligibility being the entrance examination for 95% of medical colleges in the country, competition for the best score is quite high.

When is the last date to register for this exam?

The NEET exam date 2019 was declared last year - July 7, 2018.

Since this year, the NTA (National Testing Authority) is managing the entire process, the registration started from November 1st, 2018. Later, NTA extended the NEET exam application last date till December 7 of 2018.

[Update – It has been decided and officially confirmed by the NTA that from 2019, students older than 25 years can also apply for this exam.]

Few vital facts on this year’s NEET 
 
  • • The exam was previously conducted by CBSE. From 2019, the National Testing Agency has taken over its administration.

  • • The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) established the NTA, an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining organization.

  • • The number of exam centres has risen from 136 in the last year to 154 this year.

  • Following are the seats to be filled using the NEET 2019 scores:

  • • 15% seats under All India Quota (AIQ)

  • • State Government seats

  • • All seats under Central Institutions/Deemed Universities.

  • • Seats under Central pool quota.

  • Additionally, seats for dental degrees, animal husbandry, veterinary and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) will also be awarded through NEET. 
     
    Other important dates for NEET 2019

    It is highly recommended that candidates note down every essential NEET 2019 exam date for future references. All dates released by the NTA are already confirmed, but in case of any unforeseen situations, it can change them any time as per discretion.

    From April 15, the admit card for NEET 2019 will be available for download. After the examination is over, candidates will have access to Answer Key and OMR sheet within a week after the completion of the examination.

    The cut off for this year will also be released along with NEET 2019 exam date.

    NEET result date

    After the NEET entrance exam date, candidates will be apprehensive about the result announcement. Like most years, the result will be announced nearly after one month of the exam. So, June 5, 2019, is the tentative date for NEET 2019 result.

    After the release of NEET result, counselling process for admission into various medical colleges will start from July 2nd week. Candidates who have opted for counselling under All India Quota need to register themselves on the official website of MCC. The process will comprise 2 rounds.

    Seats will be allotted to an aspirant as per his/her rank and that year’s cut off marks. Those who will be opting for counselling under their respective state’s quota must contact their state’s counselling authority. A candidate must claim his/her seat within a stipulated duration of its allotment. If he/she doesn’t do so, that seat will go to the next candidate on the waiting list. Additionally, the one who failed to claim a seat will not be eligible for further rounds of counselling.

    Other dates vital for NEET 2019

    The NEET exam last date of submission for application form was December 07, 2018. The last date to pay the application fee was December 8, 2018.

    Even after the NEET exam apply last date, an application correction window was given to applicants from January 14 to 31, 2019.
