The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE Advanced) is a highly competitive exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top engineering institutions in India. It is widely regarded as one of the toughest undergraduate entrance exams globally. Registration for JEE Advanced 2025 will begin in April 2025 (tentative), and both Indian and international candidates can apply until May 2025. The last date to pay the application fee is May 2025. To be eligible, candidates must rank among the top 2.5 lakh in JEE Main 2025.


IIT Kanpur has announced that JEE Advanced 2025 will be held on May 18 2025, in two papers, each lasting three hours. Paper 1 will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Paper 2 will be from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The exam will cover Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus of the CBSE and other equivalent boards. JEE Advanced is the next step after JEE Main for those aiming to get into IITs. Only the top 2.5 lakh students from JEE Main can take it. It's basically your ticket into IITs. IIT JEE Advanced Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025

To apply for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must first qualify in JEE Main 2025. Only those who rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main are eligible. The exam is open to Indian nationals who meet specific criteria, including age limits, number of attempts, and educational qualifications. Candidates who have previously been admitted to an IIT (except under certain conditions) are not eligible.


Foreign nationals must also clear JEE Main 2025 to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2025. They are not eligible for reservations and must meet the same educational qualifications as Indian candidates. However, foreign nationals have a separate seat allocation, with about 10% of seats reserved for them.
