### Chapter 1 - Integers

In this chapter, students will learn what is an integer, and what is its relation to the natural and whole numbers. Terms such as additive inverse will be introduced. Exercise 1.1 has 10 questions in total. After completing exercise 1, students will learn about the properties of addition and subtraction of integers. Exercise 1.2 is based on the properties of integers and has 4 questions. Next, students will learn about the Multiplication of integers and the properties of the multiplication of integers. Exercise 1.3 contains 9 questions based on the above-mentioned concepts. The next concept that the students are going to learn is the division of integers. The last exercise, exercise 1.4 has 7 questions on the division of integers.

1. Exercise 1.1 This exercise asks you to represent integers on a number line. The number line is a visual representation of numbers, with positive numbers to the right of zero and negative numbers to the left. You'll likely be given some integers and asked to mark their corresponding points on the number line.

2. Exercise 1.2 This exercise deals with expanding numerals. A numeral is another way of writing a number, like the digits you use to write a whole number. Expanding a numeral means writing it out in terms of its place values. For instance, the expanded form of 253 would be 2 x 100 + 5 x 10 + 3 x 1. In this exercise, you'll probably be given some numerals and asked to write them out in their expanded form.

3. Exercise 1.3 This exercise is about writing integers in words. Here, you'll likely be given some integers and asked to write them out in words. For example, you might be asked to write 3,456 as "three thousand four hundred fifty six".

In Class 7 Maths Chapter 1 we cover the following:

• 1.1 Introduction

• 1.2 Recall

9. What is the concept of Class 7 maths

Building on the foundation of elementary maths, class 7th maths NCERT Solutions offers new ideas to get students ready for mathematics at a higher level. Below is a summary of the main topics discussed:

• Numbers: This includes manipulating positive, negative, and zero integers; comprehending mixed, proper, and improper fractions; and dealing with decimals and rational numbers (numbers that may be expressed as fractions). With these many number kinds, students learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations.

• Introduction to Algebra: In this course, students learn about expressions (numbers and variable combinations), variables (unknown quantities), and basic equations (statements with an equal sign). They pick up the skill of solving basic linear equations.

• Understanding fundamental geometric shapes, such as lines, angles, triangles, circles, and quadrilaterals, is necessary for geometry. Pupils study the angles in triangles, the scalene, isosceles, and equilateral triangles, as well as ideas like congruence, which is the property of shapes that have the same size and shape.

• Data handling: In this lesson, students learn how to arrange and visualise data using tools including pie charts, bar graphs, and tables. In order to make judgements, they learn how to evaluate and interpret facts.

• Understanding ideas like area (the surface covered by a flat shape) and perimeter (the distance around a closed figure) is necessary for measurement. Pupils get knowledge of formulas for figuring out the area and perimeter of different shapes.

10. How to score 100 in maths class 7?

While achieving a perfect score in maths class demands commitment and concentration, the following advice can help you do far better:

• Understand the Ideas: Don't only commit formulas to memory. Make an effort to comprehend the "why" underlying every idea. This will enable you to use them more successfully in many contexts and improve your word problem-solving techniques.

• Learn the Fundamentals: Make sure you understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals thoroughly. Proficiency in these will be essential for tackling increasingly intricate issues.

• Concentrate on Formulas: You should commit to memory a few essential formulas for Class 7 maths, such as the formulas for area and perimeter of various shapes or simple equations. Make use of mnemonic devices like flashcards to aid with your memory.

• Solve Sample Papers: Get practice answering timed sample papers or prior exam papers. This will assist you in becoming acquainted with the format, efficiently allocating your time throughout the test, and pinpointing areas that require additional practice.

11. How do you add algebraic expressions in Class 7?

In The Maths NCERT Solutions Class 7, there are two primary techniques for adding algebraic expressions:

1. Grouping like terms using the horizontal method:

• Step 1: Write the expressions next to one another in a horizontal line, with plus (+) symbols separating them.

• Step 2: Find terms that are similar. The variable and exponent of these phrases are the same. For instance, both 3x and 5x are like terms (both have variable x raised to the power 1), and 2y and -y are like terms (both have variable y raised to the power 1) in the equations 3x + 2y and 5x - y.

• Step 3: Put similar terms in a group.

• Step 4: Add the coefficients of each like term group separately (coefficients are integers multiplied by the variables).

• Step 5: Combine the resultant terms to simplify the expression.

2. Vertical Approach (Column Approach):

• Step 1: Write each expression in a separate row, arranging phrases that share an exponent and variable in columns beneath one another. Add a 0 for alignment in the place of any missing term in an expression.

• Step 2: To distinguish the expressions from the sums, draw a horizontal line beneath them.

• Step 3: Add each column independently, beginning with the column on the right (which has the phrases without variables or constants in it).

• Step 4: Maintain the variable's location in relation to its appropriate column by writing the sum of each column below the line.

12. Is Class 7 maths tough?

Maths in class 7 is typically regarded as being of intermediate difficulty. It's not supposed to be daunting, but it does offer new ideas that expand on the basics you learnt in elementary school maths. Here's a summary of the reasons it might not be as difficult as you believe:

• Building on the Foundation: The arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals form the basis of class 7 maths. If you understand these fundamentals, you'll be in a good position to understand the new ideas.

• Introduction to New Concepts: Although algebra and geometry are new ideas, they are presented at a basic level. Comprehending the fundamental concepts takes precedence over intricate computations.
