What are Algebraic Expressions?

Algebraic Expressions are Expressions used to represent the idea of expressing Numbers by using letters or alphabets without specifying their actual values. We express an unknown value using letters such as x, y, z, etc in algebra.  An Algebraic Expression can be said as a combination of both variables and constants. Coefficient is the  value that is placed before and multiplied by a variable.

Define  Algebraic Expression?

The Expression which is made up of variables and constants, along with Algebraic operations (addition, subtraction, etc.) is known as Algebraic Expression. Expressions are made up of terms.

The combination of the three (as terms) is said to be an Expression. It is to be noted that, unlike the Algebraic equation, an Algebraic Expression has no sides or equals  to a sign.  The Expressions are presented with the help of unknown variables, constants and coefficients. Some of its Examples include.

3x + 2y – 5

x – 20

2x2 − 3xy + 5
