उत्तर: सन् 1938 में लेखक सेवाग्राम गया था। लेखक सेवाग्राम गाँधी जी से मिलने के लिए गया था। वह गाँधी जी से मिलने के लिए अत्यंत इच्छुक था।


प्रश्न 2. लेखक का गाँधी जी के साथ चलने का पहला अनुभव किस प्रकार का रहा?

उत्तर: लेखक के भाई पहले से ही गाँधी जी को देखने के लिए एक निश्चित स्थान पर आते थे। उन्होंने लेखक से कहा था कि गाँधी जी से मिलने के लिए उन्हें सुबह 7 बजे ही वहाँ आना होगा क्योंकि गाँधी जी हमेशा वहीं से गुजरते थे। सुबह सात बजते ही दोनों भाई गाँधी जी से मिलने के लिए भागते हुए वहाँ पहुँचे। लेखक उन्हें देखकर आश्चर्यचकित हो गए और उन्होंने बोला की गाँधी जी जैसे चित्र में दिखते हैं वैसे ही असल जीवन में भी दिखते हैं। गाँधी जी ने जब यह बात सुनी तो उनके चेहरे पर मुस्कान आयी और फिर वह आगे चले गए। लेखक का गाँधी जी से मिलने का यही अनुभव रहा।

उत्तर: अख़बार वाली घटना के माध्यम से हमें नेहरू जी के व्यक्तित्व में सहनशीलता, मितभाषी और शालीनता के होने का पता चलता है। अख़बार वाली घटना यह है कि लेखक नेहरू जी के पढ़े हुए अख़बार को पढ़ रहा था। लेखक ने ऐसा इसलिए किया क्योंकि उसको लगा कि नेहरू जी उससे अख़बार वापस मांगेंगे तो वह उनसे बात करेगा। जब नेहरू जी वापस आए तो उन्होंने देखा कि लेखक अख़बार पढ़ रहे थे। उन्होंने बड़ी विनम्रतापूर्वक लेखक से पूछा कि आपने अख़बार पढ़ लिया हो तो मुझे दे दीजिए मै भी पढ़ लूंगा। यह सुनकर लेखक को बहुत खुशी हुई।


प्रश्न 7. फिलिस्तीन के प्रति भारत का रवैया बहुत सहानभूतिपूर्ण एवं समर्थन भरा क्यों था?

उत्तर: भारत ने फिलिस्तीन को हमेशा सहानभूति और समर्थन दिखाया है क्योंकि कोई अन्य देश उसके विकास के समर्थन में नहीं था। फिलिस्तीन के लोग बहुत ही अच्छे स्वभाव के थे और सभी के साथ विनम्रतापूर्वक बात करते थे। इसलिए भारत का रवैया फिलिस्तीन के प्रति अच्छा था।

1. अराफात बड़े ही प्रेम के साथ सभी से शहद का शरबत पीने को कह रहे थे।

2. उनका आतिथ्य प्रेम इतना था कि वह सभी को अनूठा फल खिला रहे थे और शहद की चटनी के बारे में भी बता रहे थे।
