NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Hindi Antra Chapter 1 Poem Devsena ka geet - Kaneliya ka geet

NCERT Solutions Class 12 Hindi Antra 2 Chapter 1, Poem

Devsena ka Geet-Kaneliya ka geet written by the famous poet Shri Jai Shankar Prasad.

This Poem is taken from the play named 'Skandagupta' by Poet Jai Shankar Prasad. Devasena is the sister of King Bandhu Verma from Malwa. Aryavart is in crisis due to Huron’s invasion. All the people of that family, including Bandhu Verma, had died. The remaining Shiv Sena is engaged in realizing the dreams of the brother and for serving the nation. Devsena wanted Skandgupt in life, but Skandgupta used to dream of the daughter of the king of Malwa. At the last turn of life, Skandagupta wanted to get Devasena. While on Skandagupta's prayer, when she is not ready, then Skandagupta takes a vow of being a virgin for life. Then Devsena says to her heart that to keep quiet as there is no use of this now. And she sings the song "aah vedna mili bidayi", and in this song, the poet has expressed her feelings.

The second poem Karneliya ka geet is the song from one of the poet's plays named "Chandragupta". Karneliya is the daughter of the general of Sikander named Selukas. She is sitting on the bank of Sindhu river and expressing her feelings about the natural scene there.

At the end of Class 12-Hindi Antra 2 Chapter 1, Devsena ka Geet and Karneliya ka Geet, there are five practice questions asked from Devsena ka Geet and five from Karneliya ka Geet.
