1. Which of the following figures lie on the same base and between the same parallels? In such a case, write the common base and the two parallels.

Ans: Yes, trapezium ABCD and \[\Delta PCD\] consist of a common base CD and between the same parallel lines AB and CD.

Area of Parallelograms and Triangles


Ans: No, parallelogram PQRS and trapezium MNRS have a common base RS. But, their vertices lie opposite to the common base. Hence, they are not lying on the same line.

Ans: Yes, parallelogram PQRS and \[\Delta RTQ\] consist of a common base QR and between the same parallel lines QR and PS.

1. What is the area of two triangles that have equal bases and are between the same parallel lines?

If there are two triangles with equal bases and are situated between the same parallel lines, then the triangle’s area will be equal.
