NEET Exam Pattern 

The Question paper for NEET is divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. 45 questions are asked from Physics and Chemistry each, while 90 questions come from Biology - Botany and Zoology 45 questions each.


The pen-and-paper-based exam is an MCQ-type test with 4 options provided for each question, of which only one is the correct option. The paper has a total of 720 marks.

 

NEET Exam: Important Points to Note 

Remember these important points regarding the NEET exam before you apply for it.

  • NEET candidates need to pass their 10+2 examination or equivalent with a recognised board to sit in the exam. 

  • A minimum of 50% is required in the Class 12 exams, while the SC/ST/OBC category students require 45%.

  • Students must have Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, and English as their core subjects in Class 12.

  • The upper age limit criterion for NEET applicants has been removed now. 

  • The restriction on the number of attempts has also been removed, so NEET candidates can take the exam as many times as they want.
