Stomach Acidity Causes

The stomach produces gastric juices, also known as stomach acid, to break down the food particles into simpler substances so that the body can absorb them. The acid produced by the stomach mainly consists of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and hydrochloric acid. Among the three, hydrochloric acid is a strong acid, and it helps in the digestion of food. Along with that, it also destroys unknown antibodies that enter the body with the food.

When there is an upsurge in the amount of acid produced by the stomach, it can cause acidity. Acidity can also be caused by overeating, stress, unhealthy food habits, etc. In most cases, acidity is formed in the stomach due to the overconsumption of junk, oily, and spicy food.

Treatment of Acidity

Acidity is a common problem in many people today, and it can be treated with the help of proper medication. The medication for acidity primarily includes antacids and indigestion drugs. The antacids cause the acids to neutralize and stop the overproduction of acid. It gives relief to the stomach and reduces the burning sensation.
