Unit VI - Reproduction

This unit majorly includes the concepts revolving around reproduction in detail.

  •  Chapter 1 - Reproduction in organisms includes the various modes of reproduction- sexual and asexual. 

  • Chapter 2- Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants includes concepts like structure, morphology, the process of sexual reproduction of flowering plants, flower structure, the importance of seed dispersal, and fruit formation.

  •  Chapter 3 - Human Reproduction talks about the significance of the male and female reproductive systems

  • Chapter 4 - Reproductive Health teaches about the need for reproductive health. Types, methods, and effects(in brief) of various contraceptives.


Unit VII - Genetics and Evolution

Unit VII includes an explanation of how genetics and evolution work.

  • Chapter 5 - Principles of Inheritance and Variation includes chromosome theory of inheritance, sex determination, sex-linked inheritance, the mendelian disorder in humans, and chromosomal disorders in humans.

Unit IX - Biotechnology and Its Applications

This unit revolves around the meaning and uses of biotechnology.

  • Chapter 11 - Biotechnology - Principles and Processes discuss genetic engineering in detail.

  • Chapter 12 - Biotechnology and its application talks about how biotechnology can be used in the fields of health and agriculture, transgenic animals, gene therapy, vaccine production, and more.



Unit X - Ecology and Environment

Biology Question Paper 2016

Biology is an important discipline that deals with life and its related concepts and it also serves as one of the important as well as compulsory subjects for the Medical stream in Class 12. The Pattern of the Paper

  • The Biology paper of Class 12 under CBSE is of 70 marks for which 3 hours of time duration is being provided to attempt the paper.
