The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the exam conducting authority that sets the regulations. This regulatory authority also decides the question pattern. According to its latest rules, two sections of the NEET UG 2023 Biology syllabus exist.


  • Botany

  • Zoology


Each of these sections will cover 50 questions. Let us take an example. Section A of Zoology will comprise 35 questions, and Section B will have 15 questions. It is the same for Botany. Based on this marking scheme, the question pattern of NEET UG 2023 is set. A student will get 4 marks for every correct answer. If he commits one mistake, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. It means if he answers 20 questions correctly, he will score 80. If he answers 5 questions incorrectly, 5 marks will be deducted. Hence, his overall score will be 75.
