The NTA or the National Testing Agency will be conducting the JEE Main January Session from 6th to 9th January 2020. This will be a computer based or CBD test. However, the drawing section of Paper 2, pertaining to B.Arch, will be a pen-and-paper test for which you will have to visit the examination center. The JEE Main admit card has been released on 6th December 2019. The JEE Main rules must be followed for successfully giving the examination.
The JEE Mains are always an exciting and yet difficult examination for the students to crack. The National Testing Agency or NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2020 January Session from 6th to 9th January. This will be an online test while the drawing section of Paper 2 for B.Arch will be a pen and paper test. The admit card for the examination was released online on the 6th of December 2019.
You will have to adhere to some JEE main instructions so that you do not make mistakes while appearing for the examination. Consequently, it can be mentioned here that the second session of JEE Main 2020 will be held from 3rd to 9th April and the results will be declared on 31st January for first session and 30th April for the second session. You are and are not allowed to carry certain things according to JEE Mains rules and regulations 2020 and also abide by the JEE Main Timing.
You are requested to follow JEE Mains exam timings.
The JEE Mains timings are 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for the first shift and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for the second shift. Hence the exam duration will be three hours.
The entry to the exam center will be 7:30 am to 9:00 am for the first shift and 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm for the second shift.
The admit cards will be checked by the invigilator from 9 am to 9:15 am for the first shift and 2 pm to 2:15 pm for the second shift. You will have to be seated by 9:15 am and 2:15 pm respectively.
From 9:15 am to 9:25 am and from 2:15 pm to 2:25 pm, the invigilators will give out their instructions according to JEE Main exam time.
Once the candidates receive their admit cards, they should carefully check their name, paper, date of birth, gender, test center, city, state code, eligibility and category. The JEE Main conducting authority has to be approached if there are any mistakes according to online exam instructions.
In case you are unable to download your admit card, you have to contact the JEE Main helpline with application and name.
Admit cards are only issued provisionally if all the eligibility criteria are met.
Candidates will also have to carry one passport size photo, the same uploaded on the application form of JEE Main 2020. Any original photo id issued by the government like PAN card, driving license, Voter ID, Passport, Ration Card and Aadhar Enrollment number with photo.
If applicable, then the PwD certificate.
You are also requested to follow these JEE Main exam instructions:
Reach the exam hall at least one hour before the JEE exam time starts to complete the registration formalities.
The admit card as well as the other required documents have to be carried. Those who do not have the admit card will not be allowed to sit for the exams according to JEE mains instructions.
Apart from admit card and id proof, you will not be allowed to carry anything else into the hall.
All the JEE Mains 2020 instructions given by the invigilators must be followed.
You can log in and read the JEE exam rules before entering the hall.
Pen and pencil and blank paper for rough work will be provided at the hall and the paper has to be returned before leaving the hall. The names and roll numbers must be written on top of the sheet.
Those who appear for Aptitude Test II must bring their own geometry box, pencils, crayons or color pencils. No water color is allowed according to IIT JEE new rules.
The required details have to be filled in the attendance sheet, put signature and paste the photograph at the designated place.
While giving the thumb print, you must ensure that it does not smudge according to rules for JEE mains 2020.
For those who are diabetic, authorities have allowed fruits and sugar tablets to be carried inside the hall, along with water in transparent bottles but no packaged food is allowed.
You will also not be allowed to carry any kind of baggage inside the center. You will not be allowed to carry any kind of textual material, calculators, slide rules, electronic watches, mobile, pager, bits of paper, or any kind of device in the hall. If you are found in possession of any such item, then you will be debarred from appearing in the examination, according to JEE Main 2020 rules. So, keep this point in mind accordingly.
You will also have to maintain perfect silence in the hall.
If all the JEE exam rules are followed correctly, you can readily appear for the examination without any hassles whatsoever.
