Important Preparation Tips to Ace JEE 2024 Exam

Check out JEE Main 2024 Preparation Tips below:

  • Know the Syllabus Perfectly:

Knowing which topics to focus upon is the key to cracking JEE Main. To score well in the exams, one needs to be well versed in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of both classes 11 and 12. The National Testing Agency (NTA) elaborates on the syllabus at the beginning from which students can expect all kinds of questions. Knowing this syllabus perfectly will boost your study as well as the revision process.

  • Segregate the JEE Main Syllabus:

Do not forget to separate the topics of each subject in Class 11 and Class 12. This will give you the advantage to be well prepared for both board and entrance exams. After that, the topics from the JEE Main Syllabus must also be divided into easily readable, tough to understand, very tough and needs to practise categories. So the best way to prepare for JEE Mains is to make the exam strategy according to the JEE Main syllabus.

  • Divide into Class 11 Syllabus and Class 12 Syllabus:

Divide the topics into "Don't Know” and “Know ” and “needs revision”. You can again divide them into ‘Weak’ and ‘Strong’ categories. The best way to do it is to check the weightage of each topic and segregate them accordingly.

  • It is Always Advisable to Study the Entire Syllabus:

Your study strategy should ensure that you give abundance importance to the topics that carry more weightage in JEE Main. Do not forget to analyze the past 20 years of JEE Main and AIEEE question papers. This will give you a set of topics that are important. The respective weightage of the same is also easily available. Make sure to include them in your how to prepare for JEE Main strategy.

Know the Exam - JEE Main 2024 Exam Pattern

Another important step for all students is to be familiar with the JEE Main exam pattern. This will give them an idea about what to expect in the exam. Also, by understanding the marking scheme, students can calculate how they should attempt their exams.

Some Useful Guidelines for How to Prepare for JEE Main 2024

  • Give equal weightage to all the topics. Do not consider any one of them as less important. Questions can be asked from anywhere on the syllabus as it is a competitive exam.

  • Have a proper time distribution while you are studying as per the weightage of topics. Allot more time to difficult topics and less to the ones that only need revision.

  • Your study plan should also include a revision plan to ensure you do not forget any topics prior to the exam.

  • Do not just memorize anything for the sake of it. Instead, study and understand the concepts. NCERT books and NCERT Solutions are the best sources.

  • Studying should not be simply blind reading. Make notes and summaries for every chapter. This will be your revision tools.

  • Once you finish studying, test yourself on your memorisation capabilities. This will give you the correct idea about the amount of time you need to allow for revision.

  • Make your practice session serious. Do not go for solutions directly. It is okay to make mistakes. Refer to the solutions to know your mistakes. This will ensure you remember the points for a longer time.

  • Ensure you take up all sorts of mock tests. It might be online or offline. Do not miss any. The more you practice, the better it is for the exams. Also, taking multiple mock tests will help you improve your speed and your accuracy. This will prove very beneficial for the actual exams.

  • Use the results of the mock exam to analyze your strong and weak sections. This will help you to realize which to prioritize and which not to.

  • Do not forget to revise. Without revision, any amount of studying is an absolute waste of time. Revision is what makes the topics stay in your memory for a long time.

  • Never leave any concepts in doubt. Get it cleared as soon as possible. These doubts will stop you from learning further topics.

  • Don’t study 24/7. It will be monotonous. Take a good amount of breaks to stay focused and energized.
