Filling the JEE Main 2020 Application Form with ease 

IIT JEE 2020 application forms can be filled online and you should know that the last date for filling and submitting JEE Forms 2020 is the 7th of March, 2020. The previous window closed on 8th November, 2019. JEE Mains are held twice every year, that is, once in January and then in April. You have to follow the steps given below for properly submitting your application. Make sure that you apply well before the last date for JEE Main 2020.

Before going on to the steps for filling the online JEE forms 2020, we would like to bring certain points which you should keep in mind. The online application forms for JEE Main 2020 was uploaded on 3 September 2019 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The applicants were given a deadline for the submission of their application forms which was till 10 October 2019(extended). If you are eager to head towards the JEE exams then you have to be quite attentive and updated on the dates of the release of the application form and its last date for submission. Failing to submit by the end date might leave you in a difficult situation where you have to wait for another session to appear in the examination. The next window for online applications is between the 7th of February and 7th of March, so make sure that you apply accordingly. 

On how to fill JEE mains form online, we would like to tell you that it involves five steps to complete the entire procedure of applying and getting a confirmation. 

The first step is registration. You need to register yourself as a candidate. The official website of the JEE Main 2020 is where you have to go surfing and click on the option which states “Fill Online Application Form” and then go on to “Registration”. A page on the guidelines of the application and registration will appear which you should go through. After that select “Click here to proceed” and provide the details asked for. 

Details for JEE Mains form filling would generally include your personal information like your name, father’s name, mother’s name, DOB, ID proof, gender and the roll number of your qualifying examination. Furthermore, you will also be asked to fill in your contact details like your address, city, locality, state, and district and pin code. Email address and phone number should also be given so that you could be notified if there are any updates related to the examinations. You will also be asked to select a security question and input the answer for the same. You also have to create a password for signing in. 

Note that the password you set should be between 8 to 13 characters and consist of alphabets from both the upper and lower cases. Also include numbers and special characters that make your password strong. Lastly, click on submit to complete the registration process and generate the application number. 

Second is the filling of the application form. This can be called the main body of the entire procedure on how to fill JEE mains form online. Be very careful while you input the details so that you make no mistakes. Also before submitting, go through the entire form and check the details which you have entered. Information like your details, academic performance, contact and exam details have to be filled in. 

Personal details here would include your nationality, state code of eligibility, place of residence, mode of preparation and category along with medical conditions if any. Next, you will have to enter what are you applying for and the preferred exam cities along with the question paper medium. 

Your academic details need to be entered. These would include marks, pass status and result of both Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent. Your place of schooling and year of passing along with the name of the qualifying exam is also asked. Some income details of your parents/guardians are also asked like their qualification, occupation and annual income.  

The third step involves uploading of the documents required for JEE mains 2020. You have to scan and upload the documents required for JEE mains 2020 as prescribed in the application form along with your current photograph and signature. Go on to the “Upload Scanned Images” option to select and upload the required documents. Note that both the scanned images of your photograph and signature should be in JPEG format. The file size for the photograph could be anywhere between 10KB to 100KB, whereas, for the signature, it should be between 4KB to 30 KB. Dimension for the photograph is 3.5cm x 4.5cm and for the signature is 3.5cm x 1.5cm. 

Next on how to apply for JEE main is the payment of the application fees. The online mode of payments has to be adopted. Payments can be easily made online by a debit card or credit card. Net banking, Paytm and UPI can also be used to pay the fees. 

Lastly, take a printout of the acknowledgement page for further references. For printing it you should download it first. Also, check out your payment status on the official website of JEE Main and take a printout of the confirmation page as well. If your transaction has been successful, the payment status will show “OK” on the screen and if not then you have to follow the procedure on how to apply for JEE main once again to fill up the application form. If your balance transfer is not successful, the amount will be credited to your account within 7 to 10 days. 

Thus, we see how the National Testing Agency has simplified the process of application to take part in the JEE Main 2020. There are also many Common Service Centres (CSC) set up across the country for applicants who find it difficult to relate to the terms and conditions. The centres also help you understand how to apply for IIT. These centres also assist candidates who do not have the technological means to reach out to the online portal of filling up IIT 2020 application forms. These CSC are for guiding candidates and helping them in filling their application forms along with the payment of the fees. However, you should keep in mind that they impose certain charges which you have to pay to the centres in return for the help and guidance they provide for you.
