The Ship Of The Desert class 3 chapter is based on a story by SK Ram, that describes the conversation between a Camel and a Lion.
A Lion came across a Camel and asked the Camel who he was. The Camel replied that he was the ship of the desert.
The Lion was surprised when the Camel asked the Lion who he was. The Lion proudly said that he was the king of the jungle.
The Lion asked the Camel how an animal could be a ship. The Camel replied that people call him the ship of the desert because he can run across a desert in hot sand.
He can run on hot sand at 25 kilometres an hour because he has thick and padded feet.
The Lion said that he can run at 80 kilometres an hour in the jungle. The Camel replied that though the Lion can run so fast in a jungle but he can’t run even a mile in the desert.
The Camel said that he can live without water for a week. There is no water in the desert and he can drink upto 200 litres of water at a time. He also said that he can eat a lot at a time and he stores that food in his hump.
The Camel eats thorny bushes in the desert and the thorns don’t bother him as he has a thick tongue.
The Camel asks the Lion to come with him to the desert. The Lion refused the proposal as he can’t stay without food and water and can not eat thorns.
