Class 11 Hindi Aroh Chapter 15 - Sabse Khatarnak

NCERT class 11th Hindi chapter 15 is a poetry-based chapter written by ‘’Avtar Singh Sandhu (Pash)’’ who was a famous Punjabi poet in post independent India. In this poem, the writer has expressed his feelings on the daily life struggles of people through the title word ‘’Sabse Khatarnak’’ which means the most dangerous.

In his opinion, the most dangerous are not the hardships that we suffer physically, but the emotional trauma that we go through, the stagnant life that has become, the daily struggle of not doing something which is unethical just because there is a good price to receive.

The poet says, getting a beating from cops is bad enough, not able to do anything even knowing the other person is guilty is bad enough, studying in the moonlight is bad enough but not the worst. Worst is the death of our dreams, not feeling anything to fight back, the watch on your wrist which is working but for you the time has stopped, the eye that is not able to want to see the world with love and keeps you taking a goalless journey, that is the most dangerous. The most dangerous is the death of the sun of your soul and a piece of its soulless rays gets pierced to the west of your body.

The poet describes the emotional state of people that we don’t see they are suffering because we are all going towards a journey of our own which we do not know has any valid goal or not.

Similarly, getting robbed too may upset someone, but this is not long term unhappiness, as one can always work hard and earn the lost amount back. Cheating someone is also not the right thing to do, but the poet again claims that this is not the most unfortunate and dangerous situation in one’s life, as one can always work towards changing themselves.

The poet claims that the most dangerous situation in one’s life is when an individual stops living his life as a human should, but rather becomes a machine working to make ends meet. He loses his individuality and interests in life and transforms into a lifeless object. Another situation that the poet points out to be the most dangerous in someone’s life is when an individual becomes so cold and hard that his eyes are always filled with suspicion and doubt, due to which he fails to see and realize anything good in front of him. They do not come forward to support and talk about the right issues and the injustices that are met on the innocent people, but instead act as shadows of the people conducting these atrocities and injustices on the poor and deprived. The solutions provided by Vedantu are free of cost.

The poet demands the individual to realise his self-worth and fight for his rights. Only then will he be able to overcome the darkness in his mind and soul, and fill it with the light of satisfaction and happiness.
