कवि परिचय:

• प्रस्तुत कविता के कवि  'हरिकृष्णदास गुप्त' है। 

• कवि का जन्म सन् 1911 को बिहार में हुआ था। 

• इनकी प्रमुख कृतियों मे "दोहे के हीरे", "रस मलाई" शामिल हैं। 

• उन्होंने "बुढ़िया गुड़िया" नाम की बाल कविता भी लिखी है l

कविता का सारांशः

•  प्रस्तुत कविता मे कवि ने बरसात के मौसम का चित्रण किया गया है | 

• कवि कहते है कि जब पानी की बूँदे आसमान से धरती पर गिरती हैं, तो बच्चों के अंदर उत्साह का एक भाव जाग जाता है। 

• इस कविता के अनुसार जब बरसात के मौसम का आगमन होता है और धरती पर बारिश होने वाली होती है। 

• तब एक बच्चा अपने भैया से नाव बनाने को कहता है। बच्चा कहता है कि आकाश में बादल छाए हैं और इनको देखकर ऐसा लगता है जैसे ये सात समंदर का पानी भरकर लाए हैं । 

• वह अपने भैया से पानी की बूँदों के साथ थोड़ी मस्ती करने को कहता है ।

• इसके बाद बच्चा उत्साहित मन से कहता है कि आज तो बहुत बरसात होने वाली है | ऐसा लगता है कि आज सड़क, घर सबकुछ पानी से भर जाएगा और हर तरफ नदी सा दृश्य दिखाई देने लगेगा | 

• फिर वह अपने भैया से कहता है कि तुम भी जल्दी से नाव बनाओ और हम मिलकर अपनी नाव को लहराते हैं ।

• आगे वह बालक अपने भैया से कहता है कि तुम गुल्लक से पैसे ले जाकर बाजार से नाव बनाने के लिए रंग बिरंगा कागज लेकर आओ। जल्दी से इसे कैंची से काटकर नाव बनाओ | ताकि हम भी इस बरसात का मजा ले सके ।

• बच्चा आगे अपने भैया से कहता है कि मेरे लिए ऐसी नाव बनाओ जो छप-छप कर कूड़े से टकराकर, बारिश की बूंदों और पानी की लहरों से लड़ती हुई बिना रूके आगे बढ़ती जाए । वह नाव सबको पसंद भी आ जाए | और ऐसा कहकर वह  भैया को नाव बनाने को कहता है।

• यह सब सुनकर भी भैया को बारिश और नाव में बिल्कुल भी रुचि नहीं है । 

• वह अपने छोटे भाई से कहता है कि यह सब मेरे बस का नहीं है । लेकिन फिर भी बालक अपने भैया से नाव बनाने को कहता रहता है ।
