कहानी का सारांशः

• प्रस्तुत पाठ एक नाटक है जिसमें सभी पात्रों को रोचक ढंग से चित्रित किया गया है | 

• इस नाटक के अनुसार, जब पर्दा खुलता है तब बच्चे मंच पर खेलते हुए दिखाई देते हैं । 

• अचानक मुन्नी नीना को पुकारते हुए वहाँ आती है और नीना से रोटी का खेल खेलने को कहती है । 

• नीना भी रोटी का खेल खेलने को तैयार हो जाती है और बाकी बच्चे चुन्नू, टिंकू, सरला, तरला भी इस खेल में शामिल हो जाते है ।

• इसके बाद बच्चे सभी कामों को आपस में बाँट लेते हैं | 

• इसमे चुन्नू और टिंकू को बाजार से सब्जी लाने और दाल पकाने का काम मिलता है | 

• सरला को मट्ठा बनाने का काम मिलता है । 

• तरला और मुन्नी उनके साथ रोटी बनाने का काम करती है | 

• सभी लड़कियाँ रोटी बनाती हुई "थप्प रोटी थप्प दाल, खाने वाले हो तैयार ।" गाने लगती है ।

• इसके बाद सभी दोस्त एक सीध में बैठ जाते हैं और " लाओ रोटी लाओ दाल, लाओ खूब उड़ाएँ माल ।" गाने लगते है ।

• मुन्नी और तरला सभी लड़कों को रोटी - दाल देने का अभिनय करते हुए " ले लो रोटी ले लो दाल, चखकर हमें बताओ हाल |"गाने लगती है ।

• सभी खाना खाकर सोने का नाटक करते हैं । 

• आधा खाना वह बचाकर रख लेते हैं । तभी बिल्ली की आवाज सुनाई देती है । 

• बिल्ली खुश होकर कहती है ओहो ! मक्खन कितना सारा, झट से चटकर करूँ किनारा ।" इसके बाद वह रोटी खाकर तुरंत भाग जाती है ।

• उसी समय सरला जाग जाती है और मक्खन के बर्तन को खाली देखकर चिल्लाने लगती  है ।यह सुनकर मुन्नी जाग जाती है । धीरे धीरे सभी बच्चे जाग जाते है और सभी मिलकर बिल्ली को खोजने लगते हैं | 

• तभी सरला और तरला को बिल्ली मिल जाती है और सभी उसे पकड़ लेते हैं | 

• वे सभी उसे मारने का नाटक करते हैं ।

• इसके बाद बिल्ली भागने की कोशिश करती है लेकिन सब बच्चे उसे घेर लेते हैं । 

• फिर भी बिल्ली वहां से भाग जाती है । 

• सारे बच्चे बिल्ली को पकड़ने के लिए उसके पीछे पीछे दौड़ पड़ते हैं ।

• अंत मे पर्दा नीचे गिर जाता है ।
