कवि परिचय:

• प्रस्तुत कविता के कवि  सोहन लाल द्विवेदी है। 

• कवि का जन्म 22 फरवरी 1905 को उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था। 

• इन्हें राष्ट्रकवि की उपाधि प्राप्त है l

• इन्हें पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है l

कविता का सारांशः

• प्रस्तुत कविता मे कवि ने चूहे का वर्णन किया है । कवि चूहे की विशेषता बताते हुए बच्चों से सवाल पूछ रहे हैं ।

• कवि बच्चों से सवाल पूछते हुए कहते हैं कि  कभी वह बटन कुतर लेता हैं। कभी स्याही को बिखेर देता है । कभी अनाज खाकर घर मे बिखेर देता है और कभी मिठाई चुरा लेता है। कभी तस्वीर के दो टुकड़े कर देता है और रस्सी को भी काट लेता है ।

• बच्चों से यह सवाल करते हुए कवि कहते हैं कि कभी वह हमारी चप्पल तो कभी जूता कुतर जाता है । कभी वह *खलीता के पैकेट में ऐसा छेद कर देता है जिससे पैसे गिर जाया करते हैं। 

• आगे कवि कहते है कि वह कभी किताबों के *जिल्द काट डालता है, जिस कारण *पोथी के सभी पन्ने बिखर जाते हैं । आगे वह कहते है कि जिस *छन्ने को हर दिन वह धो-धोकर टाँगते है, वह उसे भी उठाकर ले जाता है ।

• कभी-कभी वह सारे कागज़ को कुतर लेता है और पूरे घर को रद्दी से भर देता है | 

• कवि बच्चों से सवाल पूछते हुए कहते हैं कि  कभी वह कूड़े से पूरे घर को भर जाता है । वह पूरी रात खुर-खुर की आवाज़ करके इधर-उधर दौड़ता रहता है ।

• अंत मे कवि बच्चों से उस शरारती का नाम पूछते है ।
