Ans: No, this does not happen in my house or any of my friends' houses. However, I read in the press that there is discrimination between girls and boys. It is, in my opinion, unethical.

Ans: No, I believe there should be no distinctions between girls and boys, or between men and women.

7. Think – what would happen if girls had to follow rules made for boys and boys had to follow rules made for girls. 

Ans: Separate rules for boys and girls will create a huge mess as this will lead to discrimination between boys and girls.

8. If you were to write a different ending for this story, how will you end it? 

Ans: When the kulfi-seller overcharged for 5 kulfis instead of 7, Phali should inform the kulfi seller and Pilloo aunty about the discrepancy. Phali also requests the Pilloo aunty to pay for 7 kulfis. Pilloo aunty was overjoyed to see Phali's fairness and sincerity.

9. Is there anyone in your family who is like Pilloo Aunty? Who? 

Ans: Yes, my grandmother is also like Pilloo aunty. She always inspires me to be honest.

10. What would the children have thought if Pilloo Aunty had paid less money to the kulfi-seller? What do you think about this? 

Ans: If Pilloo aunty had paid the kulfi-seller less money, the children would have concluded that Pilloo aunty is dishonest. I would have thought the same thing.

11. What do you think Akshay will do? 

Ans: I believe Akshay will drink water because he is tired.

12. Why was Akshay confused? 

Ans: Akshay was troubled because he was very thirsty, and Anil was giving him water at his house, but his grandma had instructed him not to drink or eat anything in Anil’s house.

13. Why do you think Akshay’s grandmother warned him not to drink even water in Anil’s house? 

Ans: The cultures of Akshay's and Anil's families were very different, that's why Akshay's grandma told him not to drink even water in Anil's house.

14. Do you know of anybody who thinks like Akshay’s grandmother? 

Ans: Yes, one of my friend's grandmother also believes similarly to Akshay's grandmother.

Ans: No, I disagree with Akshay's grandmother.

Ans: In my opinion, Akshay should not make any distinction between Anil and himself. Since he is thirsty, he should drink the water given by his friend.

17. If you were in Dhondu’s place what would you do?

Ans: If I had been in Dhondu's place, I would have purchased a chakki machine.

18. Has it ever happened to you that you wanted to do something but the elders in the family did not allow you? 

Ans: Yes, I had wanted to compete in a cooking competition, but my family's elders wouldn't let me.

19. Who takes important decisions in your family? What do you feel about this? 

Ans: In my family, all important decisions are taken by my mother and father together. It gives me a good feeling.

20. How would you like it if only one person made all the decisions for your family?

Ans: I would not be happy if a single person made all of my family's decisions. Any decision should be made after discussing with all of the family's adults.

21. Have you ever disliked anybody’s touch? Whose touch did you dislike? 

Ans: Yes, I have opposed inappropriate touching by fellow passengers on a public bus.

22. If you were in Ritu’s place, what would you do?

Ans: If I had been in Ritu's situation, I would have informed my parents about it.

23. What else can be done when such things happen? Discuss. 

Ans: When such incidents occur, the youngster should instantly shout at the offender and inform his or her parents. Parents must teach their children the difference between a good and bad touch.

24. Everybody’s touch is not the same. Ritu did not like it when Meena’s uncle held her hand, but she liked to hold Meena’s hand. Why do you think there was this difference?

Ans: There is a distinction because when Meena's uncle grasped Ritu's hand, she was uncomfortable because it was an inappropriate touch. On the other hand, Ritu did not feel uncomfortable when Meena held her hand because it was a nice touch.

Akshay loves his grandmother. She talks to him about a lot of interesting things. She loves Akshay’s friend Anil but she has strictly warned Akshay not to have water and food in Anil’s house. She says that they all come from different families and so he should never eat anything at Anil’s place. One day after a volleyball match, Akshay went to Anil’s house. He was very thirsty. Anil offered him a glass of water but he remembered what his grandmother had told him. He was very confused. 

The next story is about Dhondu. Dhondu has a big family. His elder uncle takes care of everything in the house and their family. All his life, Dhondu worked in the fields but now he wants to do something new. He wants to take a loan from the bank and buy a chakki machine to grind grains. Dhondu is very confident of his new business that it will do well. His father also approves of it but his elder uncle doesn’t want him to. 

The last story is about a girl named Ritu. She is scared to go to Meenu’s house because her uncle is there. Ritu doesn’t like it when her uncle touches her hand. In spite of Meenu pleading, Ritu did not go.
