1. What are the Eligibility Criteria for NTSE Exam 2020, Stage 1 and 2?

Ans. The eligibility criteria for NTSE 2020 require applicants to be an Indian national who has cleared the class 9 exam from a recognised education board and is currently in class 10. Also, applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in their class 9 examination are deemed eligible to apply for the exam. Similarly, students who have obtained a degree from a recognised board and have completed or are appearing for class 10 examination under Open Distance Learning are deemed qualified too. It must be noted that the NTSE candidate must be below the age of 18 years and should not be employed.

2. What is the Exam Pattern for NTSE?

Ans. NTSE 2020 will be conducted at two stages – the state level and the national level. The state-level exam or stage 1 is conducted under the supervision of the concerned state or UT. Total Duration for stage 1 is 4 hours, MCQ with 4 options. On the other hand, NCERT conducts the national level exam or stage 2. The mode of examination will be offline and through OMR sheets, and there will be two papers, namely – MAT and SAT, each carrying 100 questions. The medium of examination will be in English, Bengali, Odia, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese, Malayalam, Kannada, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu and Punjabi. Notably, the question format will be multiple-choice based questions, and the total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. There is also no negative marking in NTSE exam.
