JEE Main 2022 is scheduled to be conducted in two sessions- the first in June and the second in July. The first exam for JEE Main June session is set to be held on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th of June 2022. The JEE Registration window for the June session will be active till 5th April 2022. Candidates can register for JEE Main 2022 on the official website of the National Testing Agency. This year, NTA has introduced several changes to the JEE Main exam pattern. The marking scheme, exam centres, correction window, etc. are revised for the June and July sessions of JEE Main 2022. Candidates can refer to the below points to know more about these changes.
Number of Sessions: NTA will conduct JEE Main in two separate sessions this year. The first session will be conducted on selected dates between 24th June to 29th June 2022. The second session will be conducted on consecutive days from 25th July to 30th July 2022.
Marking Scheme: NTA has declared that there will be negative marking for Section B in JEE Main 2022 Paper 1, Paper 2A, and 2B.
No Correction Window for Applications: Once candidates submit their JEE Main 2022 Application no corrections can be made to the application forms. NTA will not provide any correction window for the JEE Main application process this year.
Exam Centres: This year there are 501 in India and 13 in overseas JEE Main Exam Centres are allotted. Candidates can select 4 choices for exam centres in their applications.
No Age Limit: Candidates completing their Class 12 examination in 2020, 2021, and 2022 can appear for JEE Main irrespective of their age.
As already stated, this year JEE Main will be conducted in two sessions, one in June and the other in July. The registration process, as well as the admit card release, of both sessions, will have separate schedules. Candidates aspiring to take JEE Main this year are advised to go through the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for the same before registering for the exam. The NTA authorities have chalked out a list of criteria pertaining to age, academic qualification, nationality, etc. that candidates must fulfil so as to be eligible for taking JEE Main 2022.
The eligibility criteria for JEE Main June and July sessions are listed below for the reference of candidates.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for candidates aspiring to take JEE Main 2022. However, candidates will have to meet the age criteria of their preferred colleges at the time of admission.
Academic Qualification: Candidates who passed the 12th Board examination (or any other equivalent examination) in 2020 and 2021 are eligible for JEE Main 2022. Also, candidates who are going to take their 12th Board examination in 2022 are eligible for both the upcoming sessions of JEE Main.
It must hereby be noted that candidates who have passed the 12th Boards or equivalent examinations in 2019 or earlier will not be eligible for JEE Main 2022. Also, candidates who are going to appear in their 12th Boards or equivalent examinations in 2023 or later will not be eligible for JEE Main this year.
The registration for the first session of JEE Main 2022 to be conducted in June is closed on 5th April. The application for the June session began on Mar 1, 2022, and the application for the July session will begin on Apr 8, 2022. Candidates will have to pay a nominal fee for JEE Main registration when they fill up the application form.
NTA has declared a concession in the registration fee for candidates belonging to the ST, SC, PwD, categories. Also, female candidates will be allowed a concession in the JEE Main 2022 registration fee. The registration fee for overseas candidates is likely to be higher than that for candidates applying from India.

Candidates can pay the JEE Main registration fee 2022 using their debit or credit cards (Master and Visa cards will not be permitted) through net banking, or UPIs. If a candidate is found to submit more than one application form, his or her candidature will be cancelled. Also, no candidate will be allowed to apply for both June and July sessions together.

JEE Main Admit Cards for the June has been released on 21st June 2022 and July sessions will be released as notified by NTA. Candidates will have to use their application number and date of birth (DOB) to login into the official site of JEE Main 2022 to download their admit cards.
For every candidate, a JEE Main Admit Card or hall ticket is mandatory to carry on the exam day along with a government-issued valid ID proof. It is important for all the candidates to carry this as it contains all the important information such as the candidate’s name, address, photograph, exam date instructions, exam slot, etc. Like last year, the JEE Main 2022 admit card might contain an advisory for candidates regarding safety measures to be taken for the pandemic.
NTA has released the updated JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern . The exam will be conducted for 3 hours. JEE Main Paper 1 will be completely computer-based while Paper 2 will be partly computer-based and partly pen-and-paper-based. Candidates will get a +4 for every question they answer correctly and a -1 for every question they answer incorrectly. For Section B of Paper 1, Paper 2A, and Paper 2B, there will be negative marking for incorrect answers.
NTA will release a provisional answer key for each paper of JEE Main 2022 for the reference of candidates, on the official website of the exam. Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key with a payment of a processing charge of Rs. 200 per question. However, they must note that the fee will not be refunded even if the answer is found to be correct. The provisional answer keys will be available for two to three days. After the verification of all challenges raised by candidates, NTA will release the JEE Main 2022 Final Answer Key. The scores of candidates will be calculated on the basis of the final answer key.
The JEE Main Result 2022 Session 1 was declared on 11th July 2022 and Session 2 Result on 8th August 2022. You can easily obtain your JEE Main Result/Scorecard on the official website of the exam. To check the result, you will need your login credentials like JEE Mains 2022 Roll number and Date of Birth.
