1. What is the syllabus asked in the JEE Mains Question Paper?
The Syllabus for JEE Mains is divided into three sections or subjects are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The class 11 and 12 syllabus comprises the syllabus for JEE Mains which is asked in the question paper in the form of MCQs and Numerical value type questions. The students can download the complete JEE Mains syllabus from the Vedantu website or the app free of cost. The subjects consist of the following number of units that comprise the total syllabus for JEE Mains:
Mathematics: 16 Units
Chemistry: 28 Units
Physics: 21 Units
2. What is the paper pattern of the JEE Mains Question Paper?
The paper pattern for JEE Mains examination is created in a way that tests both the problem-solving and thinking skills of the students and it is customised to suit the course which the students will be pursuing post this entrance test. First of all, the JEE Mains exam takes place over two papers : Paper I for students wanting to pursue B. Tech courses and Paper II for students who wish to pursue B. Arch or B. Plan. The questions in Paper I for B. Tech have only objective-type questions (MCQs and Numerical Value) while Paper II has MCQs, numerical value questions along with Drawing Aptitude and Planning based Aptitude tests. The total marks for JEE Mains Paper I and Paper II are 300 and 400 respectively. In both the papers, 4 marks are rewarded for every correct MCQ-type question’s answer while 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
3. How many questions are to be attempted in the JEE Mains Question Paper?
The JEE Mains Question Paper has a total of 90 questions for Paper-I out of which only 75 questions need to be attempted by the students. All the three sections of the JEE Mains that are Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics contain 30 questions each. Out of these 20 are MCQ-type questions and the rest 10 questions are numerical value type questions. Only 5 of these Numerical Value type questions are to be attempted for each subject. This makes the total number of MCQ questions to be attempted 60 out of 60 while the Numerical Value type questions to be attempted to be 15 out of the total 30.
