Overview of KEAM Exam 2022:

KEAM 2021 or Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical examination exam date has finally been announced by the state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. No Announcements made yet, regarding the Exam. While there are two papers, both the papers’ exams will take place on the same day. Earlier it was scheduled on April 20 and April 21 respectively. KEAM is basically a state-level examination for admission to programs like Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry, and Pharmacy.

KEAM Exam 2021

Upon successful completion of the registration process, candidates can download the KEAM 2021 admit card from the official website of the conductor authority. KEAM is generally conducted on two days for Paper 1 and Paper 2. But this year the exam has been postponed due to nationwide lockdown for coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. 

Meanwhile, candidates appearing for B. Pharma courses have to qualify Paper 1 only. And, to get admission in various medical and allied health science programmes along with agriculture, it is mandatory to qualify the NEET 2021 examination.

KEAM Exam Schedule 2021:

Exam schedule for KEAM entrance examination 2021 has been postponed due to the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The exam was scheduled was not declared yet for Paper 1 [Physics and Chemistry] and Paper 2 [Maths] respectively. 

However, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has recently announced that the KEAM 2021 exam will be held on July 16 considering the current scenario of the state. Exams for both the papers will be held on the same day, morning and afternoon.

KEAM 2021- Eligibility Criteria:

Prior to filling up the application form for KEAM 2021 entrance exam, a candidate must go through the KEAM eligibility criteria set by the conductor authorities in order to appear for the exam. Here are the detailed eligibility criteria for KEAM given in the following.

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen. But persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can also fill up the KEAM 2021 application form.

  • Age Limit: A candidate must be of a minimum of 17 years of age as on December 31, 2021. There is no upper age limit to appear in the exam. 

  • Nativity: Candidates seeking admission in the programmes offered through KEAM 2021 are divided into three types of categories- 1) Domicile, 2) Non - Keralite 1, and 3) Non - Keralite 2.

  1. Domicile: All candidates with the domicile of Kerala are referred to as Keralites for this purpose. In this case, the candidates must have lived in the state for at least 10 years. Children of All India Services Officers who are posted under the cadre of Kerala will also be to apply. But they have to produce a certificate of their parents’ service as proof. 

  2. Non - Keralite 1: Candidates living in Kerala for a minimum of five years among the 12 years of the study tenure will come under the NK 1 category. 

  3. Non - Keralite 2: The remaining candidates who do not belong to either of the above two categories will be part of NK 2 category. Candidates from this category will be able to get admission in the engineering programmes through management quota seats in self - financing colleges under the state government.

  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or equivalent exam from any recognized board.

  • Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM subjects [Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics] in order to satisfy the eligibility criteria. It is also mandatory to secure 50% marks in Mathematics individually.

KEAM 2021 Registration:

The registration process for KEAM 2021 has been extended till May 25, 2021, as the exam dates also have been postponed this year due to COVID-19. Following the successful registration on the website of CCE, the candidates can fill up the application form. Before the final submission, they can save and preview the application form. Along with all the basic details, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their recent photograph, signature, and thumb impression online (specifications- these should be in JPG/ JPEG format, 150x200 pixels and not more than 30 kb in size).

Candidates must remember that a certain amount of application fee needs to be paid using Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking or through Demand Draft. 

Following the payment of application fee and submitting the application online, candidates must take a printout of the form and affix recent photographs of themselves along with their left thumb impression in the provided space. Then they should get it attested by the Head of the Institution or by a Gazetted Officer and also signed by self and parents/guardians. Therefore, the candidate should send the application form along with the required documents to this address - “The Commissioner for Entrance Examination, 5th Floor, Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala 695 001.”

Before start filling up the KEAM Application Form, every candidate should keep the following information/documents handy:

  • A valid email ID and mobile number

  • Birth certificate

  • Reservation category certificate [if needed]

  • Class 10 mark sheet

  • Scanned copies of photograph, signature, and left thumb impression (as per the specification mentioned above)

  • Income certificate [of parents]

  • Community certificate

KEAM Syllabus:

The syllabus for KEAM entrance examination is set by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations or CEE of Kerala. The syllabus consists of three subjects mainly - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of 10+2 level. Take a look below.

KEAM Results 2021:

After the entrance examination, CEE Kerala or the Commissioner for Entrance Examination will publish the KEAM 2021 Result on their website. The result or the rank list includes various information such as a candidate’s name, the application number, marks obtained in each subject, entrance test score and Rank. CEE publishes KEAM rank lists for programmes like Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, MBBS/BDS, Medical & Allied (except MBBS/BDS/BAMS). The rank list for Ayurveda gets published separately.

The results will be available on the official website of CEE (cee-kerala.org) and a few other websites which will be notified by the CEE. The KEAM Rank list will be prepared with the help of combined marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2 and the marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/ Biology put together in the final year of the 10+2 or equivalent exam. 

How To Check KEAM Results 2021:

  1. Go to the official website of KEAM 2021.

  2. Enter Roll No. and DOB/ Password and press the ‘SUBMIT’ button

  3. Your KEAM 2021 Results will appear on the screen

  4. Download your Rank Card and take print-out for future reference

KEAM Counselling:

Upon publication of the KEAM result 2021, the merit list will be published and the counselling process will begin. Following the counselling session, the seat allotment to the various colleges will begin. 

KEAM candidates will have to register for the counselling session through online procedure. Candidates who cannot access the internet will have to register at various centres that have been mentioned in the entrance exam prospectus. Course details and choice filling must be done alongside the registration procedure for KEAM 2021 Counselling. There will be mainly two sessions of counselling. But CEE might conduct a mop-up round of counselling until all the seats are filled. 

Documents Required for KEAM 2021 Counselling:

Every KEAM candidate needs to carry the list of following original documents along with the photocopies. Take a look at the list of documents given in the following.

KEAM Exam Centres:

Choosing an exam centre as per the convenience is a mandatory task for every candidate while filling up the application form for KEAM 2021. Exam centres will be allotted as per the choice filling by the candidates. However, there might be changes in case of any emergency. We have provided the list of exam centres for the KEAM exam along with the centre code. 

It is mandatory to carry along the KEAM admit card to the allotted centres. There are some other instructions as well such as not carrying a mobile phone or any other electronic devices. Candidates should strictly adhere to that. All the candidates are advised to locate their allotted KEAM 2021 centres a few days before the test. So that they do not have to waste time on the day of the exam.
