This is the time for you.
Chapter 1 Reproduction in Organism
The first chapter of NCERT 12th syllabus talks about Reproduction. Reproduction is a simple biological process of producing their young ones, which are identical to their parents. This process plays a vital role in the continuity of the species and generations. Reproduction is usually carried out by all living organisms from a single-celled amoeba to the multicellular organisms. There are two modes of print and are classified mainly based on the participation of one or both the parents.
Chapter 2 Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants
Reproduction in plants involves both the modes sexually and the second one asexually. But the majority of the flowering plants which reproduce sexually, and flower plays a vital role in the process of sexual reproduction. So, the flower is also called as the reproductive part of a plant. The complete flower has parts like sepals, pedicel, calyx, petals, stamen which is a male reproductive part which consists of anther and filament, the pistil is the female reproductive part which comprises of three parts- stigma, style, and ovary.
Chapter 3 Human Reproduction
Reproduction is the simple process of giving birth to their little ones which are identical to their parents. As we all are aware of the operation of reproduction in humans is sexual reproduction, which involves internal fertilisation by sexual intercourse. Process of Reproduction. The method of printing in all humans happens in various stages as mentioned below: Pre-fertilization – Formation and the transfer of Gametes. Fertilisation- A sperm fertilises the egg, and the zygote is formed. Post-fertilization- The fertilised egg or zygote divides mitotically and develops into an embryo. This stage of reproduction is called embryogenesis. Also, the duration and steps of the print are covered in this chapter.
Chapter 4 Reproductive Health
Reproductive Health is general terms defined as healthy, well-being and proper functioning of reproductive organs in all aspects of reproduction. India was the very first country in the world to initiate action plans and also the programmes which were called family planning to attain total reproductive health as a social goal. It has introduced at a national level in the year 1951 to create awareness among people about various reproduction which is related aspects and by providing facilities and support for building up a reproductively healthy society.
Chapter 5 Principals of Inheritance and Variations
Heredity is a process of continuing traits from parents to their offspring’s either through the asexual reproduction or sexual reproduction. These traits are also present on the chromosomes in the form of genes, and these genes are the characters which may be similar to one of its two parents. Gregor Johann Mendel- who is known as the Father of Genetics was the first scientist who has conducted experiments on Heredity, Inheritance and Variations. In this chapter, you will also get introduced by the Law of Inheritance or Mendel’s Laws of Inheritance.
Chapter 6 Molecular Basis of Inheritance
This chapter talks about DNA, RNS and gene which is part of it. In an elaborated form. This chapter summarises your structure and details about the same. DNA- Deoxyribonucleic Acid is considered to be the molecule of inheritance as it carries genetic information in all living organisms. It is a continuous long polymer chain of deoxyribonucleotides. Its length depends on which = the number of nucleotide base pair present in it. The complete DNA structure looks like a twisted ladder when researched.
Chapter 7 Evolution
Evolution is an elaborated study of the different forms of life, its characteristics and also the changes over these several generations. It is the factual theory used by biologists to which study the genetic variation in a population. There are so many theories about how life originated on the planet earth. The method of evolution is also based on the idea that all species are correlated and progressively varies with time. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution which talks about Charles Robert Darwin is an English naturalist and biologist, is well known for the theory of evolution and the process of natural selection. He gave the theory of evolution, which is also known as ‘Darwin’s theory of natural selection’ and even published a book, on “Origin of Species by Natural Selection”.
Chapter 8 Human Health and Disease
Health can be generally defined as free from all diseases and infections. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is not only the absence of disease or illness. It is a state of an active and energetic condition including physical, mental, and social well-being. A balanced diet and disciplined exercise play an essential role in maintaining the good health of an individual. A disease is not a reasonable condition, and it affects a healthy living organism. It is broadly divided into infectious and non-infectious. Immunity is generally defined as the ability of the body to protect, defend and also fight against invading pathogens like bacteria, virus, and other foreign organisms and toxic substances. There are two types of immunity which we learn innate immunity and acquired immunity.
Chapter 9 Strategies for Enhancement in Food Production
Food is the primary substance which provides all necessary nutrients to meet the body nutritional requirements for the proper functioning of our body cells. The food which we all consume contains the required amount of nutrition which are carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and fats. Food production is a long process mainly involved in the growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, transporting, marketing, consumption, and disposal of food products. The increase in the population, the development of food production becomes the primary issue. Plant breeding and animal breeding are the two primary efforts to improve food production and to meet the requirements of the increasing population.
Chapter 10 Microbes in Human Welfare
Microbes, also called as the microorganisms are the major components of biological systems on the earth. They are present everywhere, around us, in the soil, water, air, and both in and on our body. They are also found in other Animals and plants. These organisms are so minute and vary in their size and shapes and cannot be seen by naked eyes. They can only be seen through the microscope. The different types of microbes are algae, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, virus.
Chapter 11 Biotechnology: Principles and Processes
In this chapter, we will know about the basics of biotechnology and simple processes. This chapter is made in two parts which are divided into the principles and their applications. Our biology field has come into great inventions, and it is growing extensively. Knowing biotechnology will help you a lot in your further professional courses. This is an exciting chapter and the second part is applicative too, know and understand the basis of it.
Chapter 12 Biotechnology and its Applications
Biotechnology is also defined as the broad area of biology which ultimately uses both the technology and even the application of living organisms and their respective components to develop, modify and to produce a useful product for human welfare. As you have already learnt base in the first part, this is going to be interesting. The common term ‘Biotechnology’ is coined in the year 1919 by the agricultural engineer Karoly Ereky, and he is also called as the father of Biotechnology.
Chapter 13 Organism and Populations
Ecology is the branch of biology which majorly involves the study about the interactions among organisms and their environment. Usually, there are four levels of biological organisation, organisms, populations, communities, biomes which we will be studying in detail. So, let us discuss every method and make it simpler for you. It talks about the varied discussion of the plant and animal species in an elaborated manner; it is a straightforward and informative chapter.
Chapter 14 Ecosystems
An ecosystem consists of all the living organisms including plants, insects, microorganisms, birds and animals and non-living things including rocks, soil, water and sunlight in the community interacting with each other in a given area of their environment. It is a functional unit of nature and includes both abiotic and biotic components. This chapter talks about eco-system in an elaborated form. And not to worry it straightforward and essential section giving you the gist of everything.
Chapter 15 Biodiversity and Conservation
Biodiversity can be generally defined as the sum of genes, species, and ecosystems that exists at all levels of biological organisation. The term Biodiversity previously was coined by an American sociobiologist Edward Wilson. At present, there are more than 1.5 million species which have been recorded in the world and also around 5 to 6 million species on earth waiting to be discovered. Types of Biodiversity which we will be discussing are based on the level of variations including Genetic diversity, Species diversity Ecological diversity.
Chapter 16 Environmental issues
With the continuous exposure to pollution and an increase in the human population, there is a lot of demand for necessities food, clothing, housing, vehicles, fuels etc. All these demands are extremely putting a lot of pressure on land, water, air and other natural resources which leads to pollution and degradation of the environment, biodiversity, and other environmental issues. This is causing a problem in the new age world.
So, this summarises your class 12 biology, all the very best. Do not worry we are with you so that you can score well.
