Hint: Bleeding gums has a lot of reasons, but these symptoms are sometimes caused due to some deficiency of vitamins such as vitamin c and vitamin k and in some systematic conditions.

There are so many reasons for the gums to bleed, sometimes it may be due to faulty tooth brushing techniques and it also may be due to usage of hard brush which may damage gingiva and cause bleeding.

Apart from above, other causes of bleeding gums include following
- It may be due to inflammation of gums which may cause gingivitis, and if the person is under medication such as aspirin ( it makes thinning of blood).

- In case of pregnancy, sometimes it may cause pregnancy gingivitis.

- In case of patients wearing dentures, if they are I’ll fit so it may result in bleeding of gums, and some systematic disease like diabetes, where the patient may have less immune, it may cause accumulation of bacteria and all results in bleeding.

- Some diseases like leukemia and thrombocytopenia, and too low vitamin c result in a disease called scurvy, in this disease it may weaken the person and have Anemia and bleeding under skin.

- We all know the vitamin C mainly deals with tissue growth and repair, if there deficiency and improper intake may show this symptoms

- Vitamin K deficiency can also cause the bleeding gums,this vitamin is useful for clotting of blood but vit k deficiency is very rare in adults

When look at other options carotene and cod liver oil they are not at all linked to Bleeding gums

Note: From the above explanation, vitamin c and vitamin k deficiency have a chance of bleeding gums. But in adults vit k deficiency is rare so more priority should be given to vitamin c ,where found in fruits like citrus, then the correct option is citrus.
