National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) is conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation each year for the students of classes 1 to 12. The exam evaluates the student's knowledge of cyber skills including the computer and IT knowledge skills. The NCO exam questions are selected from the school curriculum of classes 1 to 12. The exam aims to encourage the younger generation to enhance their updated knowledge of computers in a rapidly developing World.
The Science Olympiad Foundation decided the eligibility criteria of the NCO exams. The NCO exam eligibility should be satisfied by each student interested to take part in the NCO exam. Check the eligibility criteria for the NCO exam below.
The students must be registered in a school registered by the SOF in order to be eligible for the NCO exam.
Only students of class 1 to 12 are eligible for the NCO exam.
The students must completely fill the registration forms and submit them to the school authorities before the due date of the exam i.e. 30 days before the exam date.
Schools - Only the SOF registered schools can apply for NCO. Students can register for the SOF NCO exam from their respective schools. Registration of 5 students from each school is mandatory for the SOF NSO exam.
Class - Only students studying in classes 1 to 12 are eligible for the NCO exams.
Subject - Computer & IT is the compulsory subject in which the candidate has a strong interest.
Boards - Only the CBSE, ICSE , and state board students can attempt the NCO exam.
Number of Attempts - Students are eligible to attempt the NCO exam only once in each academic year.

NCO exam is an International Level Competition aims at recognizing and nourishing cyber talents among the students. NCO’S full form stands for the National Cyber Olympiad NCO exam is organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation that encourages the younger generation to enhance their knowledge and understanding of issues related to IT and computer technology as about evaluating their aptitude in these streams. It is a single level exam that gives more stress on the Mental ability and Logical $ Analytical reasoning in IT.
The NCO exam 2020-21 will not be conducted by the SOF due to the Covid -19 Pandemic.
Due to the Covid - 19 Pandemic, NCO exam 2020-21 will not be conducted by the SOF during 2020-21. The common NCO exam pattern followed by the SOF in all the years is discussed below.
Schools can register for the SOF NCO exam from their respective schools. Individual participation of the students for the NCO exam from some other modes is not acceptable by the SOF.
All the exam related information along with the registration forms, prospectus, and other necessary details is sent by the SOFto all the schools before the exam throughout the country.

An amount of INR 125 per student (including GST) is imposed on the students as the cost of examination which should be paid by each participating student for schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.
No registration fee is imposed on the students suffering from major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defense operations.
The schools can ask additional amounts of INR 25 from individual students towards remuneration to teachers to teach, guide using study material supplied by SOF, and other miscellaneous expenses.

1. Can the Students Attempt More Than One Olympiad Exams Each Year?
Although all the Olympiad exams such as NSO, NCO, IGKO, IMO, IEO, ICO are conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation each year. But all are completely different exams.Students can attempt more than one exam each year as per their class eligibility.
2. Can the Students Enroll for the Test If There Are Less Than 5 Students in a School Who Are Interested to Take Part in the SOF NCO Exam?
Students cannot enroll for the SOF NCO exam if there are less than 5 students who are interested to take part in the exam. It is not viable for the SOF to hold NCO exams for less than 5 students.Hence, at least 5 students should enroll for a test so that schools become a center.
3. How Can the Students Get SOF NCO Exam Sample Papers?
SOF sends the sample papers for all the Olympiad exams to the registered school. SOF NCO sample papers are also available on the SOF website. Along with the NCO exam sample papers, students also may benefit from subscribing to Olympiad Skill Development System.
4. How to Crack the NCO Exam?
Students interested to take part in the NCO exam can crack the NCO exams with good scores by following the tips and tricks given below.
The first and foremost thing is that the students should be well aware of the NCO exam pattern followed by the SOF. It implies that students should know the different sections of the paper in which it is divided into, duration of exam, marking scheme, etc. With this, students will be able to give their best in the exam.
The next thing on which all the students must take care of while preparing for the SOF NCO exam is the Computer and IT sections. Students must be well versed with the updated technology because this is the only section in which students are mostly tested in the NCO exam. Hence, students must be well aware of the technology in a precise way.
The third important thing which students cannot ignore is practice. The more the students practice for the exam, the more they will be aware of the type of questions that can be asked in the exam. Hence, practicing more and more will make the students more confident and would also help them to score maximum marks.
