NCO Pattern of Questions

National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) exam is conducted by SOF. NCO aims at identifying cyber talent amongst the youngsters.It inspires the younger generation to enhance their knowledge in the fields of computers and IT. It focuses on Mental Ability, Logical & Analytical Reasoning in computers and IT. NCO exam pattern paper contains three sections: Logical Reasoning, Computers & Information Technology and Achievers Section. Students get 60 minutes of time to attempt all these questions. 

Participants of NCO are ranked on the basis of marks obtained in 1st Level. After appearing the first level of the NCO exam, students can be judged academically at four different levels - within the school, at city level, at state level and above all at International level.

NCO is conducted only at Level 1, so there is no Level 2 in NCO.

NCO Pattern Paper

The students must be familiar with the NCO exam pattern paper before appearing for the exam. In this article we will cover the NCO exam pattern. There are different question papers for different classes, based on CBSE, ICSE/ISC and state board syllabus. The students can check the basic information like  the duration of the exam, type and number of questions, marks for the exam etc from below.

Type of Questions: Multiple choice questions..

Duration: The test is for a total duration of 60 minutes.

Medium of Test: The questions are asked in English only.

No. of Questions: There are a total 35 questions for class 1st to 4th and 50 questions for class 5 to 10.

No. of Sections: There are 3 sections in the test names of which are given below.

NCO Pattern of Questions

The syllabus for the National Cyber Olympiad is divided into three sections for each class starting from class 1 st to class 12 th . This has been done in order to ensure that it is represented in an easy-to- find way. The sub- topics are given according to the class of the student. 


The NCO Pattern of Questions Are as Follows

For class 1st to 5th the Section 1 contains questions related to Patterns, classifications, analogies etc. Class 6 th onwards, it contains questions related to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

Section 2 contains questions related to the topics and sub-topics from class in which the student is. 

Section 3 consists of the questions of Higher Order Thinking. The topics are the same as those of Section 2 for each class but the level of the questions gets raised a few notches up. This section should be started only after the previous sections are completed as it tests the students differently.

NCO Answer Key

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)  releases the answer key of NCO in online mode at official sites. Students can download the NCO answer keys 2020 from the official sites and check their probable scores. Many coaching institutes also release the NCO 2020 answer key for SET A & B right after the commencement of exam. The NCO answer key 2020 comprises correct answers to each question asked in the exam. Students can calculate the expected marks obtained in the SOF NCO exam.

1. What is the NCO 2020 Exam Eligibility Criteria?

One must satisfy the eligibility criteria to appear for the SOF NCO 2020 exam. Following are eligibility criteria for NCO exam 2020:

  • One must be a student of a recognised school by the SOF in order to be eligible for NCO exam.

  • Only Class 1 to 12 students are eligible for the National Cyber Olympiad.

  • The student must have filled the complete application form and submitted it to the school authorities along with the fees before the last date i.e. 30 days before the exam date.

2. What is the NCO 2020 Application Process?

Students can apply for National Cyber Olympiad 2020 in offline mode. Students can collect the NCO application form 2020 from the Principal, Vice Principal or teacher in-charge of their respective school. Students have to submit the complete SOF NCO form 2020 with the fees of Rs. 125 to their respective schools. Students can only apply for the SOF National Cyber Olympiad 2020 through their respective schools only no online mode is available.
