1.किस घटना ने सालिम अली के जीवन की दिशा को बदल दिया?

उत्तर: बचपन के दिनों में एक दिन अचानक उनकी एयरगन से एक गौरैया घायल हो गई, उस दिन सालिम अली को उनका पक्षियों के प्रति प्रेम का आभास हुआ। अतः उस दिन से उनके जीवन की दिशा बदल गई तथा वह एक प्रसिद्ध बर्ड वाचर बने।

2.सालिम अली ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री के सामने पर्यावरण से संबंधित किन संभावित खतरों का चित्र खींचा होगा कि जिससे उनकी आँखें नम हो गई थीं?

उत्तर: उन दिनों रेगिस्तानी हवाओं के कारण केरल की साइलेंट वैली दूषित होती जा रही थी तथा ज़मीन के बंजर होने का खतरा उस पर मंडरा रहा था। पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री के सामने सालिम अली ने इन्हीं चीजो़ं के भय का चित्र खींचा होगा तथा स्वयं भी ज़मीनी व्यक्ति होने के कारण सालिम का प्रकृति के प्रति प्रेम देखकर उनकी आँखें नम हो गई थीं।

3. लाॅरेंस की पत्नी फ्रिडा ने ऐसा क्यों कहा होगा कि "मेरी छत पर बैठने वाली गोरैया लॉरेंस के बारे में ढेर सारी बातें जानती है" ?

उत्तर: लॉरेंस की पत्नी फ्रिढा ने ऐसा इसलिए कहा होगा क्योंकि लॉरेंस भी सालिम अली की तरह अपना अधिक्तम समय पक्षियों के साथ ही व्यतीत करते थे जिनमें उनकी छत पर बैठने वाली गोरैया भी शामिल थी। लॉरेंस गोरैया के साथ काफी़ सयय बिताते थे तथा उससे काफी़ प्रेम भी करते थे और गोरैया भी उनके साथ प्रेमी की भांति रहती थी, फ्रिढा ने इसी संर्दभ में वह वाक्य कहा था।

4.आशय स्पष्ट कीजिए-

(क) वो लॉरेंस की तरह, नैसर्गिक जि़ंदगी का प्रतिरूप बन गए थे।

उत्तर: अंग्रेजी़ कवि लॉरेंस एक प्रकृति तथा पक्षी प्रेमी थे। सालिम अली भी लॉरेंस की तरह ही अपने जीवन को प्रकृति के प्रति समर्पित कर चुके थे।

(ख) कोई अपने जिस्म की हरारत और दिल की धड़कन देकर भी उसे लौटाना चाहे तो वह पक्षी अपने सपनों के गीत दोबारा कैसे गा सकेगा!

उत्तर: लेखक यहाँ सालिम अली की मृत्यू का दुख प्रकट करते हुए बताते हैं कि अब भले ही कोई अपने हृद्य की धड़कन या शरीर का जोश़ देना भी चाहे तब भी पक्षी रूपी सालिम लोटकर नहीं आ पाऐंगे।

(ग) सालिम अली प्रकृति की दुनिया में एक टापू बनने की बजाए अथाह सागर बनकर उभरे थे।

उत्तर: सालिम अली का कार्य किसी टापू अर्थात बंधन का मोहताज नहीं था बलकि वह सागर की तरह विशाल, असीमित तथा आजा़द था।

5.इस पाठ के आधार पर लेखक की भाषा-शैली की चार विशेषताएँ बताइये।

उत्तर:  विशेषताएँ निम्नलिखित हैं-

क) लेखक ने अलंकारों का प्रयोग किया है।

ख) लेखक ने पाठ को एक संस्मरण के रूप में लिखा है।

ग) अभीव्यक्ति का भरपूर प्रयोग किया गया है।

घ) लेखक ने पाठ में मिश्रित शब्दों का प्रयोग किया है।

6. इस पाठ में लेखक ने सालिम अली के व्यक्तित्व का जो चित्र खींचा है उसे अपने शब्दों में लिखिए।

उत्तर: सालिम अली प्रकृति तथा पक्षी प्रेमी थे। वह अधिक्तम समय प्रकृति के करीब रहकर गुजा़रना पसंद करते थे। 'बर्ड वाचर' होने के कारण भ्रमण करना उनके जीवन का अहम हिस्सा था। कैंसर उनके मृत्यु का कारण ज़रुर था परंतु कभी उनके अंदर का जुनून नहीं छीन सका।

7." साँवले सपनों की याद" शीर्षक की सार्थकता पर टिप्पणी कीजिए।

उत्तर: यह पाठ जाबिर हुसैन द्वारा लिखा गया एक संस्मरण है जिसमें वह सालिम अली की प्रकृति और पक्षियों से भरी सुनहरी दुनिया का विशलेषण करते हैं। साँवले सपनों से उनका अर्थ सालिम अली के उन सपनों का है जो पक्षियों की हिफाज़त करने के लिए वह देखा करते थे। लेखक को इन्हीं सपनों की याद आती है जब सालिम गुज़र जाते हैं।

ख) सार्वजनिक परिवहन का प्रयोग करना।

ग) नदियों के पानी को प्रदूषित न करना।

घ) वन व पेड़ों को न काटना तथा अधिक से अधिक पौधारोपण करना।
