1. What are the Various Methods Used to Teach the Concept of Addition for the Students?

Ans. The concept of addition is easy but very important for the entire mathematics. So the students need to learn it perfectly at the beginning itself. But all the students may not be similar, and one student may differ from others. To make all the students understandable, we have plenty of methods to add to numbers. We use ' + ' as a symbol of addition. Some of the methods are:

  • Counting by objects.

  • Counting by fingers.

  • Column method.

  • Row method.

  • Number line method.

  • Counting on Abacus.

  • Story sums etc.

2. How can we Teach Addition Using Story Sums?

Ans. Story sums are a little bit difficult to teach the concept of additions for the children. This is the method which is used to assess the ability of the students. It will be more clear to have an illustration.

Ans. Number of chocolates with Sai = 3.

Number of chocolates given by his sister = 2.

Total number of chocolates = 3 + 2 = 5.
