JEE Main 2023 30 January Shift 1 and 2 - Question Paper Analysis

It can be concluded from both student records and expert analyses that both shifts on 30 January were more or less comparable in terms of style and difficulty.


The Chemistry section was moderately difficult compared to the morning shift paper, with equal weightage in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Physics was also a little more difficult compared to earlier shifts, from what students have mentioned after the exam. The section primarily comprised questions from Modern Physics, Semiconductors, Units and Dimensions, and Communication. Maths was easier compared to the morning shift. However, the paper itself was lengthy and included a number of tricky questions that tickled the grey cells in students.


Mostly, the questions were based on the NCERT textbooks. Students who had practised well from the NCERT textbooks were able to solve most questions without difficulty.
