• प्रस्तुत कहानी तीन भाईयों की है ।

• एक दिन सुबह तीनो भाई अपने लिए नए घर की खोज में निकल पड़ते है। 

• आगे कुछ दूर चलने के बाद उन्हें एक आम का पेड़ दिखाई देता है और वे तीनों उस आम के पेड़ के नीचे आराम करने लगते हैं। 

• तीनों बैठकर पेड़ के पके आम खाने लगते है।

• तभी बड़े भाई ने कहा कि मुझे तो यह जगह बहुत पसंद है और कहा कि आम के पेड़ से बढ़कर और कुछ नहीं हो सकता है। 

• बड़े भाई ने उन दोनों को बताया कि जब आम कच्चे होंगे तो इसका अचार बना सकते हैं। पक जाने पर मीठे मीठे आम खा सकते हैं। 

•  इस प्रकार बड़े भाई ने आम के पेड़ के नीचे ही अपनी झोपड़ी बना ली और वही पर रहने लगा।

• बाकी के दोनो भाई आग बढ़ गए । कुछ दूर चलते चलते आसमान में बादल छा गए। 

• तभी उन्हें केले के कुछ पेड़ मिले। दोनों ने केले का पत्ता काट लिया। पत्ते को उन्होंने अपने सिर के ऊपर रख लिया।जिस कारण वे दोनों नहीं भीगे।

• कुछ देर बाद जब बारिश रुक गई तो दोनों ने केले के पत्ते पर खाना लेकर भरपेट खाना खाया। साथ ही केला भी खाया। 

• तभी दूसरा भाई बोला कि मैं तो यही पर घर बनाऊंगा। मुझे तो केले का पेड़ बहुत अच्छा लगा। वह बोला हम केले खा सकते हैं। उनकी सब्जी बना सकते है। कुछ केले हम बेच सकते है और उन पैसो से चावल खरीद सकते है। 

• इस प्रकार दूसरे भाई ने वही पर ही अपनी झोपड़ी बना ली।

• अब तीसरा भाई अकेला ही आगे बढ़ गया। कुछ दूरी पर उसे नारियल का एक पेड़ मिला। 

• उसे बहुत प्यास लग रही थी। तभी एक नारियल ऊपर से नीचे गिर गया। 

• उसने चाकू से नारियल की जटाएं साफ़ की और नारियल का मीठा पानी पी लिया। 

• तीसरा भाई, वहां बैठकर सोचने लगा कि आम और केले का पेड़ बहुत अच्छा होता है। 

• वह नीम के पेड़ के बारे मे सोचते हुए कहता है कि नीम के पेड़ की दातुन अच्छी होती है। यदि कोई घर में बीमार हो तो लोग नीम की टहनियाँ दरवाजे पर लटका देते हैं। 

• वह कहता है कि रबड़ का पेड़ होने से पेड़ की छाल में एक लम्बा चीरा लगा करके, दुधिया रस से रबड़ बनाया जा सकता है। 

• नारियल के फल की जटाओं से रस्सियाँ बनायीं जा सकती है। इनसे चटाई भी बनती हैं। नारियल का पानी भी पिया जाता है। नारियल के गोले से तेल साबुन आदि बनाया जा सकता है। 

• इस प्रकार तीसरा भाई मन मे सोचते हुए कहता है कि मेरे लिए तो नारियल का पेड़ ही अच्छा है ।

• तीसरा भाई  नारियल के पेड़ के नीचे अपनी झोपड़ी बना लेता है और आनंद से रहने लगता है ।
