Overview of CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2017

Question Paper Format: 


The CBSE 2017 question paper Class 12 chemistry pattern was similar to the CBSE Class 

12 Chemistry Sample Paper 2017.


The question paper consisted of a total of 26 questions.

  • Questions number 1 to 5 are very short answer questions which carry 1 mark each.

  • Questions number 6 to 10 are short answer questions which carry 2 marks each.

  • Questions number 11 to 22 are again short answer questions which carry 3 marks each.

  • Question number 23 is a value based question which carries 4 marks.

  • Questions number 24 to 26 are long answer questions which carry 5 marks each.


There was no overall choice in the paper. However, the paper was provided with an internal choice in one question of 2 marks weightage, one question of 3 marks weightage and all the three questions of 5 marks weightage.
