Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a computer based exam for admission in undergraduates programs such as engineering ( BE/BTech ) and architecture ( B.Arch ) in technical institutes all over India. 

If a candidate qualified JEE Mains and meets the cut offs of National Institutes of Technology ( NITs ), he/she is eligible to get admission in NIT. 

If a candidate qualified JEE Mains, he/she is also eligible to write JEE Advanced and meet the required cut offs to get admission into Indian Institutes of Technology ( IITs)

Structure of JEE Exam 

JEE Mains exam conducts 2 papers namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2 Where, Paper 1 is for BE/BTech courses and contains Physics, Chemistry and Math sections. It became mandatory to be a computer based exam ever since 2018. Paper 2 is forB.Arch and B.Plan courses, and the skills tested are Mathematics, aptitude, drawing and planning. It is conducted in a Pen and paper based mode of examination because of drawing. 

Up until 2018,candidates applying for paper 1 had options to choose between pen and paper based or computer based mode of examination. But then it changed to just online pen and paper mode. 

As per new rule, JEE Main 2022 will be conducted four times a year, candidates should make the best use of their time and opportunity, they better take their JEE Main preparation to the next level. You can rectify the mistakes you made in the current mock tests and improve your test score and increase your rank. JEE Mains is also a preliminary examination for JEE advanced where candidates who qualify JEE Mains can attempt JEE advanced for IITs. It is held annually once a year. 

Importance of Understanding JEE Syllabus 

1. Candidates should understand the syllabus properly so that there is no doubt remaining as to what topics one should study while preparing for JEE. Make sure you are following the latest syllabus released as per the official JEE website. 

2. Then you need to divide the syllabus topics for each day. Everyday, make sure to  study new topics. Number of topics can be as per your convenience but should be completed well in time before the exam. 

3. IIT JEE syllabus gives an understanding of concepts along with the marking scheme of each chapter, chapter wise marking is important to categorize the important topics the candidate should prioritize. 

4. Once you have the updated Syllabus, you can ignore the questions from those topics while solving question papers and sample papers. 

5. Once you know the syllabus, you will know exactly what all to expect during the exam and this way you can have a little calm nerves during the exam. Syllabus helps you feel prepared.

• According to the candidates' initial feedback, the question paper was moderate to difficult.

• The Mathematics section was the toughest. Most of the questions were lengthy. The questions were asked from both the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT syllabus.

• The Physics section was moderate to tough.

• The questions in the Chemistry section were simple, theoretical, and NCERT based.
