What is IMU CET?
The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test, commonly known as IMU CET, is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to various maritime courses offered by the Indian Maritime University and its affiliated institutes.
IMU CET is conducted for admission to courses in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Ocean Engineering, and related maritime fields.
The exam is applicable to diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes offered by the Indian Maritime University.
IMU also offers management courses in maritime logistics, and admission to some of these courses may be through IMU CET or other accepted exams.
Indian Maritime University has campuses in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Port, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, and Kochi.
Admission to most IMU courses and affiliated colleges is based on IMU CET scores. However, some courses may also accept exams such as GATE, CUET, CAT, MAT, CMAT, CUET PG, or PGCET.

IMU Admission Process 2026 through IMU CET and Other Entrance Exams
IMU Admission 2026 is mainly based on IMU CET scores. Indian Maritime University conducts separate entrance tests for different courses, including UG, MTech, and MBA programmes.

Candidates applying for IMU CET 2026 must meet the course-wise eligibility criteria set by Indian Maritime University.

IMU CET 2026 Counselling
IMU CET 2026 counselling is expected to be conducted in June 2026. Indian Maritime University will conduct the counselling process online for admission to its 6 campuses.
Candidates who qualify for IMU CET 2026 must register for counselling by paying a counselling registration fee of INR 10,000. The fee can be paid online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
