About JEE Advanced Syllabus Chapter-Wise Weightage 2022

According to the latest schedule, the JEE Advanced 2023 exam will be conducted on 28th August 2022. Candidates often feel confident when they have prior knowledge of the updated JEE Advanced syllabus 2023, important chapters for JEE Advanced, and their weightage. This helps to prepare a detailed study plan for the country’s most difficult and prestigious entrance exams. This is why we have curated the JEE Advanced chapter-wise weightage of all the subjects to assist you in your preparation.

However, upon analysis of the last 20 year papers of the JEE Advanced exam, it can be noted that there is no fixed weightage of any chapter in the exam. But students can always look for the approximate weightage of different Physics, Chemistry, and Maths for smart preparation of the important chapters for JEE Advanced to score better.

But before jumping to the JEE Advanced topic-wise weightage, it is imperative that you know a bit about the exam.

JEE Advanced 2022 is a computer-based test which is conducted as Paper I (from 9 AM to 12 PM) and Paper II (from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM), which are held on the same day. Candidates need to clear both the papers to qualify the JEE Advanced exam. Each paper is of 3 hours duration. The total marks of JEE Advanced exam are 256.

The JEE Advanced 2022 question paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Integer/Decimal-type and Matrix Match type questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths subjects from the Class 11 and 12 syllabus. Each paper has roughly  about 18 questions per subject, making it a total of 54 questions per paper.

Now, let's see the tentative JEE Advanced 2022 weightage of all three subjects for both Paper I and Paper II, as NTA never keeps the weightage same each year.

JEE Advanced Syllabus Weightage Analysis

The previous trends have shown that Chemistry is often the easiest subject among the three; however, one still cannot ignore it as it is also one of the most scoring. According to the official JEE Advanced 2022 syllabus, Class 11 topics consist of almost 30% to 40% of Chemistry, while in Physics, Classes 11 and 12 hold equal weightage. The Mathematics section was composed of 40% to 50% of topics from Class 11, which serve as the  foundation for Class 12.

The JEE Advanced weightage will be available to you online very easily; however, it is highly recommended that candidates must not rely solely on these figures. Though JEE Advanced topic-wise weightage provides you with an insight into the balance of subjects in the exam, you should consider every topic as important, irrespective of the weightage it carries.
