IIT Bhilai was established by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development in 2016 in Chhattisgarh. The institute offers various specializations for BTech programs. The BTech program so offered is for 4 years. The programs so offered are majorly in the stream of Science, Technology, and Engineering. The students can be admitted into these national-level programs based on their national-level qualifying examination results. Especially for IIT Bhilai admission in undergraduate courses, the qualifying exam for the admission process is JEE Mains/JEE Advanced. 

IIT Bhilai 2022 Admission Process

IIT Bhilai is among the prestigious institutes of the nation. It holds the reputation of providing students with an exceptional education. There is tough competition to get into the IITs.  IIT Bhilai B.tech admission 2022 is currently ongoing.

Candidates who have cleared the JEE Advanced examination can register online and fill choices for JoSAA Counselling 2022 till September 21 on the JoSAA official website. The round-1 seat allocation will take place on September 23. 

Also, GATE 2023 registrations have started. The last date to apply for Gate 2023 exam is September 30. The exam will be conducted between February 4 and February 12, 2023.

Further, IIT JAM 2023 application forms are also out now. The last date to submit the IIT JAM application form is October 11.

The IIT Bhilai admission depends on the rank obtained by the candidate in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. JoSAA releases the final rank and cutoff list based on which seats are given to the applicants. If the student clears the IIT Bhilai cutoff, they can get a seat in their chosen department.

To get admission into IIT Bhilai for B.Tech, the students can apply online through the official portal. The candidates are also required to fill in the form for the qualifying entrance examination. The application process for the IIT Bhilai B.tech program is as follows:

• Click on the “Admission” tab

• Select the B.Tech course.

• Register as a new user by filling all the required details

• Log in with your credentials and fill the accurate details in the application form

• Enter academic qualifications

• Pay the application fee and submit the application form.

Along with this, candidates have to register for JOSAA as well. Follow the below steps for JoSAA Counselling registration. 

• Visit JoSAA official website and click on the registration page.

• Login using the JEE Advanced application number,

• Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate

• Click on ‘Submit changes’

• Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.

• Lock the selected choices. For this, you need to click on ‘I agree to lock my choices’

• Keep a printout of the page for future use.

IIT Bhilai Scholarships

Several scholarships are offered to the students at the undergraduate level itself. This encourages students to do well academically and attain excellence. Scholarship details for IIT Bhilai are as mentioned below:

Merit-Cum-Mean Scholarship:

• In the OBC and UR categories, a maximum of 25% of students can get this scholarship. 

• Eligibility criteria: To avail the benefit all throughout their course, the students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 6.0.

SC/ST Scholarship:

All the students belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible for this scholarship. The following allowances are provided to the students:

• Free food and boarding

• Monthly allowance

• Maintaining a minimum CGPA of 7.0

Free Student Scholarship:

In undergraduate programs, the grant of free studentship can be availed by 10 percent of the students. However, to avail this scholarship, a minimum CGPA of 6 must be maintained. For other economically backward students availing 2/3rd of remission for the tuition, they are eligible to avail 1/3rd reimbursement for tuition fee as well.

IIT Bhilai Placements

IIT Bhilai was established in 2016 following which the first batch of students for undergraduate has not passed yet. Currently, they provide the students with a training and placement program. Under this, a summer internship of 11 weeks is carried out. In 2019, during summers, over 150 students were placed as interns in some of the top companies, namely, Robert Bosch, Career Midea, Think Future Technologies and many others. Many students also got qualified for internationally coveted-programs.  One of them included Google Summer of Code (GSOC).
