The main idea behind the birth of the XML full form is to put forward the following:
Simplicity- XML works in such a way that it transports and stores data in the most simple ways. Mainly in simple textual format, it aids the readability of both the human and artificial intelligence of the machines
Generality- The nest in line was the generality of the document storage system. As it is not complex in nature, it can be accessed easily and used generally without any hassle
Usability- Being simple in structure it gives the users an upper hand. It's easy to use across the internet platform.
The year 1996 witnessed the coming forth of the first XML acronym working draft. Through the year 1997, further design works continued. The task was conducted via emails and teleconferences between eleven members headed by James Clark. Michael Sperberg-McQueen on 4th December 1997 compiled a record of design decisions and their rationales. The first XML came forward in 1998. Going through further modifications, the fifth edition of the Full Form of XML was published on 26th November of the year 2008.
The XML full form uses a huge number of languages for its functionality. We have jotted some of them in the list below:
Auto –Lead Data Format

Java Speech Markup Language
These are just a few drops taken out, from a huge ocean of XML languages. There are a lot more that have escaped from the list. But every one of them is extremely crucial and useful.
An XML full form file can be validated by:
Document Type Definition (DTD) - It defines the legalities of a document structure. It is the building block of the XML document. It contains a list of legal attributes.
XML Schema Definition (XSD) – It is used to define the actual structure of the document. It has a greater hold on the XML document.
