उत्तर: बाढ़ की खबर सुन कर लोग अत्यन्तावशकसामने को इकठ्ठा करने में जुट गए, उन्होंने आवश्यक ईंधन व खाने-पिने का सामान इकठ्ठा करने लग गए और कुछ कम्पोस की गोलियां भी इकट्ठी कर्ली ताकि बढ़ में घिर जाने पर कुछ का गुजरा आराम से हो जाए सभी ने अपनी दुकाने खाली करदी और बढ़ के आने का इंतजार करने लगे।

2.बाढ़ की सही जानकारी लेने और बाढ़ का रूप देखने के लिए लेखक क्यों उत्सुक था?

उत्तर: मनुष्य होने के नाते लेखक भी जिज्ञासा से भरे थे। उन्होंने कभी बाढ़ का अनुभव न लिया लेकिन फिर भी वह बाढ़ पर कहानी, उपन्यास, व् रिपोर्ट लिख चुके थे। उनकी बाढ़ को देखने की बड़ी उत्सुकता थी।

3.सबकी जुबान पर एक ही जिज्ञासा-‘पानी कहाँ तक आ गया है?’-इस कथन से जनसमूह की कौन-सी भावनाएँ व्यक्त होती हैं?

उत्तर: सभी के मन में यह जिज्ञासा थी की पानी कहाँ तक आ गया है 'पानी कहाँ तक आ गया है यह सुन कर हमारी उत्सुकता, कौतुहल, और सुरक्षा की भावना उमड़ने लगी।

4.मृत्यु का तरल दूत’ किसे कहा गया है और क्यों?

उत्तर: बाढ़ के निरंतन बढ़ते गए त्रोत को 'मृत्यु' का तरल दूत कहा गया है। बढ़ते हुए जल ने भयानक संकट का संकेत दिया गया था। बाढ़ के इस बढ़ते जल त्रोत ने ना जाने कितने प्राणियों को उजाड़ दिया था और बेघर कर के मौत के नींद सुला दिया था इस तरल जल के कारन काफी लोगो को मरना पड़ा इसलिए इसे 'मृत्यु का तरल दूत' कहा जाता है।

5.आपदाओं से निपटने के लिए अपनी तरफ़ से कुछ सुझाव दीजिए।

उत्तर: आपदाओं से निपटने के लिए निम्नलिखित उपाय किए जाने चाहिए

सरकार को सभी प्रकार के संभावित खतरों से निपटने के लिए साधन तैयार रखने चाहिए। उस सामान की लगातार देखरेख होनी चाहिए ताकि आपदा के समय उनका सदुपयोग किया जा सके।
आपदाए किसी को बता कर या संकेत दे कर नहीं आती
आपदाओं से निपटने के लिए सभी को तैयार रहना चाहिए।
जनता व सरकार दोनों को संकट की घडी में शान्ति से काम लेना चाहिए।

6.‘ईह! जब दानापुर डूब रहा था तो पटनियाँ बाबू लोग उलटकर देखने भी नहीं गए…अब बूझो!’-इस कथन द्वारा लोगों की किस मानसिकता पर चोट की गई है?

उत्तर: उक्त कथन द्वारा लोगो में पाई जाने वाली इर्षा जो किसी दूसरे को दुखी देख कर मिलने वाली ख़ुशी की और इशारा कर रही है। यहाँ लोगो की मानसिकता को दिखाया जा रहा है की लोग किस प्रकार दूसरे की तरक्की से दुखी होते है। लोग संकट में एक दूसरे की मदद करने की बजाए अपने निजी स्वार्थ के बारे में पहले सोचते है।

7.खरीद-बिक्री बंद हो चुकने पर भी पान की बिक्री अचानक क्यों बढ़ गई थी?

उत्तर: उक्त लोग बाढ़ को देखने कके लिए बड़ी संख्या में इकट्ठे हो रहे थे। वह बाढ़ के आने से दुखी नहीं थे बल्कि वह ख़ुशी-ख़ुशी बाढ़ को देखना चाहते थे। ऐसे समय में पान उनके लिए समय काटने का एक साधन था जिसे वह बाढ़ आते देखते समय खाना चाहते थे। इसलिए अन्य सामने की दुकाने बंद होने लगी लेकिन पान की दुकान पर सब से ज्यादा बिक्री होने लगी थी।

8.जब लेखक को यह अहसास हुआ कि उसके इलाके में भी पानी घुसने की संभावना है तो उसने क्या-क्या प्रबंध किए?

उत्तर: जब लेखक को एहसास होने लगा की उसके यहाँ भी बाढ़ का पानी घुसने की संभावना है तो वह रोज मर्रा की चीजों को इकठ्ठा करने लगा उन्होंने आवश्यक सामान जैसे मोमबत्ती, आलू, ईंधन, आदि चीजों को इकठ्ठा करना शुरू कर दिया और पिने का पानी भी उन्होंने किताबे भी खरीद ली और यह भी सोच रखा था की बाढ़ का पानी ज्यादा भरने पर वह छत पर जा कर इनको पढ़ेंगे।

9.बाढ़ पीड़ित क्षेत्र में कौन-कौन सी बीमारियों के फैलने की आशंका रहती है?

उत्तर: बाढ़ पीड़ित जगहों पर कई बीमारिया जन्म लेने लगती है जैसे मलेरिया, हैजा, टाइफाइड, उल्टी, पेचिश, बुखार, डायरिया, कालरा आदि बीमारियों के फैलने की संभावना होती है साथ-साथ पानी का बार-बार पैरो पर लगने से घाव होने के आसार बन जाते है।

10.नौजवान के पानी में उतरते ही कुत्ता भी पानी में कूद गया। दोनों ने किन भावनाओं के वशीभूत होकर ऐसा किया?

उत्तर:वह नौजवान और कुत्ता एक दूसरे को बेहद पसंद करते थे दोनों ही एक-दूसरे के सच्चे साथी थे दोनों में ही बहुत गहरा लगाव था। दोस्त होने के नाते वह एक दूसरे को मानव और पशु की तरह नहीं देखते थे वह एक दूसरे के बिना नहीं जी सकते थे। यहाँ तक की नौजवान को कुत्ते के बिना मृत्यु भी बर्दाश नहीं थी और इसी प्यार व् लगाव के कारण कुत्ता भी पानी में कूद गया था।

11.‘अच्छा है, कुछ भी नहीं। कलम थी, वह भी चोरी चली गई। अच्छा है, कुछ भी नहीं- मेरे पास।’-मूवी कैमरा, टेप रिकॉर्डर आदि की तीव्र उत्कंठा होते हुए भी लेखक ने अंत में उपर्युक्त कथन क्यों कहा?

उत्तर: लेखक का कलाकार प्रवर्त्ती का होने के कारण उन्हें कैमरे, टेप रेकॉर्डर की आवश्यकता महसूस हुई ताकि वह इस बाढ़ का चित्रण कर सकते परन्तु अगर वह ऐसा करते तो वह केवल दर्शक बन जाते और बाढ़ को साक्षात् अनुभव करने का मौका उनके हाथ से निकल जाता इसलिए उन्होंने उपर्युक्त कथन कहा की अच्छा हुआ मेरे पास कुछ नहीं है।

12.आपने भी देखा होगा कि मीडिया द्वारा प्रस्तुत की गई घटनाएँ कई बार समस्याएँ बन जाती हैं, ऐसी किसी घटना को उल्लेख कीजिए।

उत्तर:जहाँ मीडिया प्रचार प्रसार कर समाज को जाग्रत करता है वही कुछ समस्याए बढ़ा भी देता है उदाहरण स्वरुप अभी का किसानो वाला किस्सा ही ले लीजिए इस घटना को मीडिया ने इतना तोड़-मरोड़ कर दिखाया की लोग सरदारों को गलत नज़र से देखने लगे। जिसके कारण सरदारों को काफी कुछ देखना पड़ा।

13.अपनी देखी-सुनी किसी आपदा का वर्णन कीजिए।

उत्तर: जब भारत की प्रधान मंत्री इंदिरा गाँधी को उन्ही के गार्ड ने गोली मार कर उनकी हत्या करदी जिसके कारण भारत के सभी सरदारों को मारा गया सिर्फ इस कारण की इंदिरा गाँधी को मारने वाला उनका गार्ड सरदार था इसलिए लोगो ने उनकी कॉम को ही ख़त्म करने की ठान ली।
