2. जज को पटेल की सजा के लिए आठ लाइन के फैसले को लिखने में डेढ़ घंटा क्यों लगा?

उत्तर: सरदार पटेल को गिरफ्तार करके पुलिस के पहरे में ही बोर सबकी अदालत में लाया गया। कितनी सजा किस धारा के तहत सुनाई जाए इस बात का फैसला जज नहीं कर पा रहे थे क्योंकि अपराध तो कोई था ही नहीं और गिरफ्तारी हुई थी साथ ही सरदार पटेल ने अपराध स्वयं स्वीकार कर लिया था। इसलिए उन्हें 8 लाइन का फैसला देने में डेढ़ घंटा लगा दिया।

3. "मैं चलता हूँ - अब आपकी बारी है"- यहां पटेल के कथन का आशय उद्धृत पाठ के संदर्भ में स्पष्ट कीजिए।

उत्तर: पटेल के कथन का आशय उद्धृत पाठ के संदर्भ में यह है कि उन्हें सरकार ने बिना कारण गिरफ्तार कर लिया था। तब उन्होंने कहा कि मैं जानता हूं मेरे जाने से यह यात्रा नहीं रुकेगी। मुझे हटाया जाएगा तो और कई वल्लभभाई खड़े हो जाएँगे। उन्हें पता था गांधीजी इस आंदोलन को आगे बढ़ाएँगे। इसलिए उन्हें संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा - मैं चलता हूँ। अब आपकी बारी है।

4. " आप लोग त्याग और हिम्मत सीखें"- गांधी जी ने यह किसके लिए और किस संदर्भ में कहा?

उत्तर: एक बार गांधीजी रास गए। वहाँ उनका भव्य स्वागत किया गया। रात समुदाय के लोग इसमें सबसे आगे थे। जो दरबार कहलाते है। यह रियासत दार होते है। गोपाल दास और रविशंकर महाराज जो दरबार थे, वहां मौजूद थे। गांधीजी ने इन्हीं के जीवन से प्रेरणा लेने को लोगों से कहा कि इनसे आप लोग त्याग और हिम्मत सीखें। धैर्य, त्याग और साहस के द्वारा ही अंग्रेजी शासन को बाहर खदेड़ा जा सकता है।

5. पाठ द्वारा यह कैसे सिद्ध होता है कि - "कैसे भी कठिन परिस्थिति हो उसका सामना तत्कालिक सूझबूझ और आपसी मेलजोल से किया जा सकता है।" अपने शब्दों में लिखिए।

उत्तर: 'कैसी भी कठिन परिस्थिति हो उसका सामना तत्कालिक सूझबूझ और आपसी मेलजोल से किया जा सकता।'  इस कथन पर प्रकाश डालने के लिए पाठ का एक प्रसंग- गांधी जी अपनी दांडी यात्रा पर थे। उन्हें महा नदी पार करनी थी। ब्रिटिश सरकार ने नदी के तट के सारे नमक भंडार हटा दिए थे। मैं अपनी यह यात्रा किसी राजघराने के इलाके से नहीं करना चाहते थे। जब वे कनकपुरा पहुंचे तो एक घंटा देर हो गई। इसलिए गांधी जी ने कार्यक्रम में थोड़ा परिवर्तन करने का निश्चय किया। परिवर्तन यह था कि नदी को आधी रात में समुद्र में पानी चढ़ने पर पार किया जाए ताकि कीचड़ और दलदल में कम से कम चलना पड़े। तट पर बहुत अंधेरा था। इसके लिए लोगों ने अपनी सूझबूझ से काम लिया और थोड़ी ही देर में हजारों दिए जल गए। हर एक के हाथ में एक दीया था। दीए जलने की वजह से अंधेरा मिट गया। दूसरे के नारे भी लोग इसी तरह हाथों में दिए लेकर खड़े थे। गांधीजी के मिलन और सूझबूझ ने कठिन परिस्थितियों पर काबू पाकर लोगों के हृदय में स्थान बना लिया।

6. महीसागर नदी के दोनों किनारों पर कैसा दृश्य उपस्थित था? अपने शब्दों में वर्णन कीजिए

उत्तर: महीसागर नदी के दोनों किनारों पर रात के १२:०० बजे हजारों लोग अपने हाथों में जलते दिए लेकर खड़े थे क्योंकि वे गांधीजी का और सत्याग्रहियों के आने का इंतजार कर रहे थे। उस समय अत्यधिक अँधेरा था। गांधी जी को भी रोशनी की आवश्यकता थी। चारों ओर महात्मा गांधी की जय,सरदार पटेल की जाए और जवाहरलाल नेहरु की जय के नारे गूँज रहे थे। इन्हीं नारों के बीच गांधीजी की नाव रवाना हुई। गांधीजी के नदी पार करने के बाद भी तट पर दिए लेकर लोग खड़े रहेतथा अन्य सत्याग्रहियों की प्रतीक्षा करते रहे।

7. " धर्म यात्रा है। चल कर पूरी करुँगा।" गांधी जी के इस कथन द्वारा उनके किस चारित्रिक गुणों का परिचय प्राप्त होता है?

उत्तर: "धर्म यात्रा है। चल कर पूरी करूंगा।" गांधी जी का यह कथन उनके अटूट साहस, उत्साह और तीव्र लगन का परिचय देता है। गांधीजी धर्म यात्रा के लिए वाहनों का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहते थे। उनके अनुसार यात्रा में कष्ट सहना पड़ता है। लोगों का दर्द समझना पड़ता है। तभी कोई यात्रा सफल होती है। गांधीजी सत्यवादी, अहिंसा प्रिय, सदाचारी, देशभक्त, धार्मिक, विद्वान कर्तव्यनिष्ठ, दृढ़ निश्चय वाले व्यक्ति थे।

8. गांधी को समझने वाले भविष्य अधिकारी स्मार्ट से सहमत नहीं थे कि दादी कोई काम अचानक और चुपके से करेंगे। फिर भी उन्होंने किस डर से और क्या एहतियाती कदम उठाए?

उत्तर: गांधीजी सत्यवादी, अहिंसा प्रिय, सदाचारी, देशभक्त, विद्वान दृढ़ निश्चयी व्यक्ति थे। उनके इन्हीं व्यक्तित्व विशेषताओं से वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी परिचित है कि गांधीजी कोई भी काम चोरी चुपके नहीं करेंगे। ब्रिटिश शासकों में एक वर्ग ऐसा था जिसे लग रहा था गांधीजी और उनके सत्याग्रही मही नदी के किनारे अचानक पहुँचकर कानून तोड़ देंगे। इसलिए उन्होंने इतिहास के तौर पर नदी के तट पर बने हुए सारे भँडारों को नष्ट कर दिया।

9. गांधीजी के पार उतरने पर भी लोग नदी तट पर क्यों खड़े रहे?

उत्तर: गांधीजी के नदी पार करने के बाद भी तट पर दिए लेकर लोग अन्य सत्याग्रहियों की प्रतीक्षा में खड़े थे। क्योंकि गांधी जी की तरह ही उन्हें भी नदी पार करवानी थी।
