उत्तर: पत्र जैसा संतोष फोन या एसएमएस का संदेश नहीं दे सकता क्योंकि हर साधन की अपनी एक खासीयत होती है। केवल कामकाजी बातों को संक्षिप्त रूप से व्यक्त  करने की बात हो तो फोन और एसएमएस को भी देखा जा सकता है। मगर पत्रों द्वारा हम अपने मन में आ रहे सभी भावों को निश्चिंत व विस्तारपूर्वक ज़ाहिर कर सकते है। पत्रों को हम अपने सगे-सम्बंधियों की धरोहर के रूप में संभाल कर रख सकते है। परन्तु फ़ोन या एस.एम.एस को हम सहेज कर नहीं रख सकते। पत्रों से आत्मीयता झलकती है। पत्रों को हम अनुसंधान का विषय भी बना सकते हैं और ये बहुत-सी  पुस्तकों का आधार है। यह  राजनीति, साहित्य तथा कला क्षेत्र में प्रगतिशील आंदोलन के लिए एक बड़ी वजह के रूप में भी देखा जा सकता है जबकि इस दृष्टि से  फोन या एसएमएस द्वारा दिए गए संदेश अक्षम हैं।

3. पत्र लेखन की कला के विकास के लिए क्या-क्या प्रयास हुए? लिखिए।

उत्तर: पत्र लेखन की कला को विकसित करने के लिए दुनिया के सभी देशों में कई प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं उनमें से  एक तरीका है सभी देशों द्वारा पाठ्यक्रमों में पत्र लेखन का विषय शामिल किया जाना। इतना ही नहीं इसके अलावा विश्व डाक संघ की ओर से सन् 1972 में  एक कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया जिसमें पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की जाती है और इसके अंतर्गत 16 साल से कम उम्र के बच्चे शामिल होते हैं।

4. पत्र धरोहर हो सकते हैं लेकिन एस एम एस क्यों नहीं? तर्क सहित अपना विचार लिखिए।

उत्तर: पत्र व्यक्ति की स्वयं की लिखावट  में होते हैं, जो कि उनसे जुड़े प्रियजनो  को पढ़ते समय अधिक  भाव - विभोर कर देते है। पत्र लिखते समय व्यक्ति को काफी समय भी लगता है। हम जितने चाहे उतने पत्रों को धरोहर के रूप में समेट कर रख सकते हैं जबकि एसएमएस को मोबाइल में संभालकर रखने की क्षमता अधिक समय तक नहीं होती है। एसएमएस को अधिक समय तक याद नहीं रखा जाता। पत्र देश, काल, समाज को जानने का साधन रहा है। विश्व के अधिकतर संग्रहालयों में जाने - माने प्रसिद्ध व्यक्तियों के पत्रों का निराला संग्रह भी है।

5. क्या चिट्ठियों की जगह कभी फैक्स, ई-मेल, टेलीफोन तथा मोबाइल ले सकते हैं?

उत्तर: चिट्ठी, फोन, ई-मेल ,टेलीफोन ये सभी संप्रेषण  के माध्यम है। वैसे-चिठ्ठी /पत्रों का चलन न कभी कम हुआ था, न कभी कम होगा। चिट्ठियों का स्थान कोई नहीं ले सकता है। पत्र लेखन एक साहित्यिक कला है परन्तु फेक्स, ई-मेल, टेलीफोन तथा मोबाइल जैसे तकनीकी माध्यम केवल काम काज के क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण है। हालांकि आज ये ज़रूरत के समय काम में तो अवश्य आते है लेकिन फिर भी ये पत्र का स्थान नहीं ले सकते हैं क्योंकि उसके मध्यम से व्यक्ति अपने भावो, विचारों को पूर्ण रूप से दिखा पाता है जिससे पाठक और लेखक दोनों जुड़ पाते हैं।

6. किसी के लिए बिना टिकट सादे लिफ़ाफ़े पर सही पता लिखकर पत्र बेरंग भेजने पर कौन-सी कठिनाई आ सकती है? पता कीजिए।

उत्तर: बिना टिकट सादे लिफ़ाफ़े पर सही पता लिखकर पत्र बेरंग भेजने पर पत्र को पाने वाले व्यक्ति को कठिनाई का सामना करना पड़ सकता है जैसे कि टिकट की धनराशि जुर्माने के रूप में देना। अगर वह ऐसा करता है तभी उसे पत्र दिया जाएगा वरना पत्र वापिस चला जाएगा।

7. पिन कोड भी संख्याओं में लिखा गया एक पता है, कैसे?

उत्तर: किसी खास क्षेत्र को संबोधित करने का काम पिन कोड ही करता है। इसका हर एक नम्बर अपने आप में बहुत महत्व रखता है यह कोड दर्शाता है कि पत्र किस राज्य के किस क्षेत्र का है।   इसके साथ व्यक्ति का नाम और नंबर आदि भी लिखना पड़ता है। पिन कोड का पूरा रूप है पोस्टल इंडेक्स नंबर यह ६ अंको का होता है। हर एक का खास स्थानीय अर्थ होता है, जैसे-१ अंक राज्य २ और ३ अंक उपक्षेत्र अन्य अंक क्रमशः डाकघर आदि के होते है इसलिए हम कह सकते है कि पिन कोड भी अपने आप में एक तरह से संख्याओं में लिखा गया एक पता ही है|

8. ऐसा क्यों होता था कि महात्मा गांधी को दुनिया भर से पत्र महात्मा गांधी-इंडिया' पता लिखकर आते थे?

उत्तर: महात्मा गांधी अपने आप में एक ऐसे प्रसिद्ध व्यक्ति का नाम है जिन्हें सत्य वचन और अहिंसा के लिए जाना जाता है। और इसी कारण यह भी कहना बिल्कुल गलत नहीं होगा कि उन्हें पूरे देश में अनेकों चाहने वाले हैं और इसी लोकप्रियता के कारण उन्हें दुनिया भर से पत्र महात्मा गांधी इंडिया पता लिखकर आते थे। वे भारत गौरव थे। गाँधीजी देश के किस भाग में रह रहे हैं यह देशवासियों को पता रहता था। अतः उनको पत्र अवश्य मिल जाता था।
