Hint: The process of transmission and reception of information is called communication. Receiver and demodulator are parts used in the process of communication. We can observe the names of the various components in a communication system and the process of transfer of information to observe the functionality of the components.
Complete step by step solution:
The functions in communication system:
Receiver: It extracts the message signal from the transmitted carrier signal. It reconstructs actual signals using output transducers. Transducers are devices that convert electromagnetic signals into sound, light or electrical signals. It is present at the output end of the channel. here it segregates the message and unwanted signals.
The receiver operates on the received signal picked up from the transmitted signal at the channel output and changes it to a form corresponding to the original message signal for delivering.
Demodulator: The process of recovering data from the transporter wave at the recipient is the demodulation and the Electronic Circuit utilized for it is called demodulator. Demodulator is a circuit that is used in amplitude modulation and frequency modulation receivers in order to separate the information that was modulated onto the carrier from the carrier itself. A demodulator is the simple aspect of the modulator.
Additional information:
There are various types of communication system. Some are -
Analog system - In this the signal frequency or amplitude varies with time. Various broadcasts and the telephone communication is an example of analog communication.
Digital system - In this the data is represented in terms of 0 and 1. LANs is an example of digital communication
On the basis of medium used, they can be categorized into wired and wireless communication.
Note:
Modulation is the way toward impacting information data on the transporter ,in simple words it is the process of changing the information according to the signal. Various types of modulation are amplitude and frequency. Demodulation is the recuperation of unique data at the far off end from the transporter.
