Hint: Ozone layer is a shield of the earth’s stratosphere. In this layer high concentration of ozone is situated compared to other parts of the atmosphere. Ozone absorbs almost all the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun and protects us.Nowadays ozone holes are being found for areas of damage of ozone layer.
Complete step by step answer:
Actually, the ozone layer damage is basically like a patch than a hole. This damage of the ozone layer is commonly known as ozone layer depletion. This ozone layer depletion is basically for the ozone-depleting substances (ODS) emitted into the atmosphere. CFC is considered as a main reason for \[80\% \] ozone layer depletion. It is known as Chlorofluorocarbon . this CFC basically comes from the refrigerator, air-conditioner, deodorant etc. Some examples of CFC are CFC-12, CFC-11 etc.
The chemicals which are responsible for the depletion of ozone layer is Chlorofluorocarbons,Halogens, Hydrofluorocarbons, etc.
So, the correct option is , D.
Note: Ozone layer depletion is one of the major environmental problems because it reaches the very harmful ultraviolet ray of sunlight to the earth surface. This ultraviolet ray can increase the skin diseases, eye cataracts , and genetic and immune system damage.
