Hint: In order to solve this question, we should know that there are mainly three kinds of substance in the presence of a magnetic field namely paramagnetic, diamagnetic and ferromagnetic. Here we will discuss paramagnetic substances and will know about Gold and its nature in presence of a magnetic field.

Complete answer:
As we know that when paramagnetic materials are those which are very weakly magnetized when placed in the magnetic field and this is due to the presence of some unpaired electrons present in that kind of material atoms and these unpaired electrons give net dipole moment in those materials and when these kind of atoms are in the presence of external magnetic field these dipole moments gets aligned in the direction of magnetic field and gets weakly magnetized and thus this kind of materials known as paramagnetic substance.
and this property is shown by the Gold which makes it paramagnetic material, other than gold some metals like aluminum and copper. While Diamagnetic materials are those that are placed in the external magnetic field these substance gets magnetized in a direction opposite to that of the external magnetic field some common example of diamagnetic materials are Copper, zinc, and water. So, we see that Gold shows the property of Paramagnetic so, it’s paramagnetic in nature.
Hence, yes Gold is paramagnetic in nature.

Note: It should be noted that, other than paramagnetic and diamagnetic, Ferromagnetic materials are those which get highly magnetized in the direction of the external applied magnetic field and the most common ferromagnetic materials are Iron and Nickel.
