Whenever the current across the inductor changes it either acquires charge or loses the charge in order to equalize the current passing through it. The inductor is also called a choke, reactor or just coil.

D.C. current refers to direct current where there is no change in the direction of current with respect to time.

Therefore, we got to find out that inductor works on the principle of changing electric flux. When D.C. current is used then there is no change in magnetic flux as D.C. does not have any zero frequency. Hence, it will work as a short-circuit or a connecting wire with no resistance when D.C. current is used.
