Hint:We know that, an image in optics can be defined as the collection of focus points of rays of light that come from an object. The collection of focus points made by truly converging or diverging rays is known as a real image. The collection of focus points made by extending the converging or diverging rays is known as a virtual image. It can be also said as an image which is present in the plane of convergence for the light rays that originate from an object.

A real image can occur when rays converge. Real images are usually formed by the intersection of the light rays. The rays of light intersect after reflection from the mirror or after being refracted by the lens. If a screen is kept at the point of intersection of the rays, the image of the object can be captured on the screen. This is why we say that the real image can be touched. The real images can be generally produced with the help of concave mirrors and converging lenses only if the object is kept away from the lens/ mirror than the focus and the real image obtained is inverted.
