A transistor consists of two PN diodes connected back to back and has three terminals: emitter, base and the collector. It is an electronic device which works by controlling the flow of the electrical current.
When the transistor is cut off then the condition arises that there will be no input current to the circuit i.e. there is no collector current and also there will be no output current to the circuit i.e. there is no emitter current.
