JEE Main 2016 Question Paper Analysis

If you study the JEE Main 2016 paper, you can see that the questions were distributed equally between the Physics, Maths, and Chemistry sections. Most of the questions were asked from the syllabus of the CBSE Class 11th and 12th curriculum. Some of the questions were based on concepts and theory. Around 27 questions seemed to be easy, 48 were moderate, and 15 were difficult. The difficulty level and length of the questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics were similar. Mathematics, on the other hand, was more difficult than Physics and Chemistry. The section-wise analysis is given below:

  • Physics Section

Physics problems were difficult and confusing, but the JEE Main 2016 question paper was slightly more difficult than the previous year. There were a few problems with multiple correct answers, which put students in a dilemma as to whether they should attempt or not.

  • Chemistry Section

The questions were entirely theoretical and were based on memory. One or two chemistry problems were initially difficult. When compared to the previous year's paper, the JEE Main 2016 paper was tough. Only a few problems appeared to have no corresponding answer among the options provided.

  • Mathematics Section

The paper was moderate but it seemed to be lengthy. Compared to the previous year, it was a little tough, with a few complex questions. Furthermore, a few problems were unclear, and anyone who attempted to solve them may have spent a significant amount of time.

Preparation Tips for JEE Main

  • While preparing the timetable for the JEE Main Exam, avoid having many books and materials on the same subject. In most situations, an IIT JEE coaching study book that covers the entire syllabus is sufficient.

  • Develop an equal amount of enthusiasm for all three PCM subjects.

  • It is not advisable to 'measure' the number of hours spent learning. Instead, anytime you open your book for a study session, you should do so with complete focus. However, according to research, a minimum of 4-6 hours each day for JEE preparation is recommended.

  • Remove all potential sources of distraction from your studies.

  • Consider problem-solving a part of your everyday study routine. It will not be sufficient to simply cover the theory. Try to come up with solutions as quickly as possible.

  • It would be easier to solve the different types of questions on the exam if you have a clear understanding of the ideas.

  • Make a list of key terms, formulas, and reactions.

  • Have all of the previous year's JEE questions at your fingertips and start solving them.

  • Take mock tests to obtain a better understanding of the exam, including the question paper structure, types of questions, difficulty level, and more.

  • Always review your performance, particularly your mistakes. Work on improving your weak areas once you've found them.

  • Clear up any doubts or questions you may have as soon as possible. Seek help or support from teachers, mentors, and even friends.
