JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Dates, Released - Check Exam Schedule

Every year, a different branch of IIT conducts JEE Advanced, and this year, it is IIT Roorkee conducting the same. Usually, the exam is arranged in the mid of May; however, due to the national elections scheduled to be held in April and May, it will be conducted towards the end of May in 2019.

The national level examination is entirely computer-based and is conducted in two sessions for Paper 1 & 2. Candidates who qualify in this exam become eligible for the counseling rounds to get a seat at one of the IITs. To qualify JEE Advanced, candidates must appear in both the papers.

As per the information brochure for JEE Advanced, as many as 2,45,000 candidates who qualify JEE Main can appear for JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced Exam Date

This year, JEE Advanced will be conducted on May 27th. However, that’s not the only important date related to this exam. Candidates must also be aware of other essential dates related so that, once the results for JEE Mains are out, those who qualify can get ready to apply and appear in JEE Advanced.

With these important dates noted, candidates can smoothly complete their application procedure and appear for this exam.
As mentioned earlier, the exam will be conducted in two sessions – 

  • • Session 1 will consist of Paper 1 which will start from 9.00 AM and conclude at 12 Noon.

  • • Session 2 will consist of Paper 2 which will start from 2.00 PM and end at 5.00 PM.

  • When appearing for the exam, candidates must bring with them the issued admit card without which they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

    However, before everything, you must meet the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced. 
    Eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE Advanced 2019

    Check out whether you meet the essential eligibility requirements chalked out by the authorities to appear in this final phase of examination. 
  • a) Earlier, candidates over 25 years of age belonging to the unreserved category were not allowed to appear for JEE Advanced. For the candidates coming from the reserved category, the upper age limit was 30 years. However, as per the directive from the Supreme Court of India, candidates above both 25 and 30 years of age for unreserved and reserved categories respectively can now appear in JEE Advanced. All they need to meet is the lower age limit of 17 years. The directive is applicable until any further notice sent by the SC.

  • b) Candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent exam. Those who are appearing in this qualifying exam in the same year as JEE Advanced are also eligible to appear for it. However, their admission to one of the IITs will be subject to their successful completion of the qualifying exam.

  • c) Each candidate applying for JEE Advanced must have qualified JEE Main.

  • You will be eligible to appear in the Advanced exam only when you meet the mentioned eligibility criteria.
